I am already worrying about finding a job to see me over the 5 month summer break, anyone else? Been applying like mad for all sorts of jobs to no avail, probably to the detriment of my course work :( I get my last student loan payment in May and as a student won't be entitled to benefits over the summer and it's really…

resitting a year at uni or transferring to a different course...?
Hi, I was just wondering where you would stand money wise if you either had to resit a year at uni or you transferred to a different course part way through your current course. Would the SLC only pay for equvallent to three years worth of study regardless of whether you're having to fund an extra year or would they pay…

Money issues, 6th form & uni
Okay, I know I'm still in year 11 so it's not something major to worry about. However, I cannot get any EMA money as my parents are way over the threshold - although they're a 5 figure sum in debt (on a debt management plan now mind you) I was just wondering what options would there be for me in terms of money for 6th form…

Money advice for English undergraduate students
I am a final year student and have one piece of advice for those starting university: Do not save your money or be too sensible with it. Spend it as soon as you get it and you will be rewarded with more. This may sound a strange thing to hear, but it is based on my university experience. I am extremely sensible with my…

Funding for btec diploma
Hi, I'm considering leaving my job to go back to college. I work in retail and just find i'm totally unfulfilled by this, i've always had a interest in fashion and really want to go back to college to see if I can get myself to a place where I can be in a more creative fashion role rather than just selling clothes! I've…

Negotiating with SLC
Hi All My wife has about £5k outstanding with the SLC. They are fixed term loans. She works part time and isn't likely to earn more than the earning limit. Has anyone negotiated with the SLC to make a partial repayment as full and final settlement. I was thinking of offering around £2500. Any suggestions welcome. Regards
