Interview question..........help please

Options
Hi all, I am hoping for some advice for an interview tomorrow for the Social Work degree. My friend had her interview earlier this week and has given me the gist of what is expected at the interview. She has also given me a brief insight of the questions and they are pretty standard and expected those questions. However, there is one question that I am struggling to find an answer for, I am hoping someone on here will be able to give any examples they have- I do not want to use other peoples examples, I am simply hoping that someone will give an example that will trigger my memory.
The question is; give an example in my working/ professional life where someone I knew/ cared for/ supported etc, was discriminated against and how I could handle the situation better.

I have posted on both the student board as well as the employment in a hope of getting some good examples.
Thank you in advance. xx

You'll probably find this thread helpful. It'll probably help if you gave some background as to what your working/professional life is.

Im sorry but I do not know enough about your topic or course you are applying for .
But if I was asked this question in an interview and didnt know I was going to be asked it . Off the top of my head I would have thought about when I worked with a young girl who was on less than minimum wage compared to myself and other staff members .
By my boss at the time she was given all the horrible jobs and dirty jobs which my boss or nobody else was prepared to do { as they were certainly not in the job description }.
She was told how if she didnt do them she could go home . With her age and inexperience she did not defend herself , but basically the boss was making her stay behind to do jobs that were cleaning etc over her working hours so she could pay her less and didnt give her a chance to say she did not want the overtime .
I suppose if you have not experienced anything in your life that has discriminated against anyone you could use this in your own words and describe how you would change this :)
