reclaiming money from closed ns&i account
Hi all, Wondering if there's anyone out there who can help me... A couple of years ago, my sister lent me all the money in her ns&i account and then closed the account. I then (very carelessly) moved house and lost the cheque in the process. To further add to the problem, my sister has not kept any documentation relating…

Low cost tracker that is NOT in an ISA
Hi everyone, As I don't live in the UK, I'm unable to open an ISA. I'm looking to make regular monthly savings and would prefer to do so in some kind of low-cost tracker than in cash but does anyone know if any such trackers exist that are not ISAs? Thanks, MFW in Madrid.

How to check for deceased's bank accounts?
I am an administrator for a relative's estate and am nearing the end of the process. He was single, lived alone, did all his banking online (and rarely bothered to print anything out!) so, although I have administered his current account, the details (a bank card) of which were obvious, and one savings account (only clue…

PE Ratio For Major Indexes
I am looking to get the current P/E ratios for the worlds major stock indexes but for some I am struggling. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions where to find them, I really don't want to have to go through all the constituents of the individual index and average the P/E ratio for all companies. I have no problem…

Hi, I’m looking for advice about what to do with nearly £39,000. Savvy Savings!
I never thought I would be able to save, but well I have and now have 10K surprisingly! I'm not wanting to get involved with stocks and shares and the like and I'm not convinced ISA's are the way to go because of the poor rates. As I have a First Direct current account, I've opened one of the savers accounts at 6% and will…

Recommended platform for monthly Vanguard LS ISA contributions...
Hi there, We opened ISAs a couple of months back with Fidelity to aallow regular monthly contribution to Vanguard LifeStrategy (60%). It would appear that I might have been a bit hasty, and didn't research the fees fully - their 0.35% annual fee (in addition to the LS fund fee obviously) isn't that great when compared to…

Leaving HL
Hi guys, I've got a small-to-moderate sized fund which I hope to continue to grow over the next year. HL is obviously quite expensive at this level so I am looking to move to Cavendish. Is there any way around the HL £25 exit fee? I only have one fund (VG LS) so I can take it if need be. Is Cavendish suitably "safe" for my…

CHAPS payment delays at Santander
I just would like to share my recent experience with Santander bank with you. I think potentially, it can happen with other bank as well. So be careful when you use CHAPS payment service. It is simply not a guaranteed next day service, as you bank can only guarantee money arrived at the agent bank of payee, but not payee's…
