NS&I Fixed Rate Savings Certs
Is it allowable to take out a new issue of a 2-year NS&I Savings Cert while an existing one is still running? I have the maximum £15K in one that I took out last September, but I see there is a new issue available now (in fact I appear to have missed a couple of subsequent issues, as the one I have was issue 37 and the…

Drip feed or lump sum
I have a small lump sum (3k) and am saving £250 per month toward a retirement fund, which will not be required for 35 yrs. I am interested in investing a portion of this into a S&S ISA. I am aware of the benefits of drip-feeding into investments that are considered to be near to the bottom of their cycle rather than trying…

Anything Like the HSBC Regular Saver at 10%
I'm currently getting 10% interest from a HSBC Regular Saver account (as a Premier customer, i think normally it's 8%). I'm putting the maximum of £250 per month away. You can only invest for 12 months and it's anniversary is soon. Does anyone know if there is anything out there that can match / beat this interest rate.…

Long term interest rate fix
If you had some spare cash you could afford to tie up longer term, what would you fix for - 1 Year, 2 Years, 3 years? I know interest rates were forecast to fall before the stock market/recession scares but would anybody hazard a guess where they will be in 1 - 2 years time?

Do you change accounts regularly for better rates?
When I got made redundant last year I read on one of Martin's articles that the best place to put savings was the Sainsburys account. Since then the best accounts have been Bradford and Bingley and ICICI HiSave. Do you shift you money around and close accounts when they are not the best buy? I have just closed my Bradford…
