Loughborough Reg Saver+ Account ( Few Reminders)

A Payment can be made in March 2008 even if it appears to be a "13th" payment.
Should anybody wish to change their payment (s) for year 2008/09, they must advise Loughborough BS of the new monthly payment (s) before April Payment (s) is/are made.

My Loughborough RS is a 2 year saver anyway, i.e. the 8% one. So which one are you talking about?0

Yip the 2 year Reg saver + which is guaranteed to be 2.50% gross above the base rate until 310309.
As quite a lot of people from here opened the account i thought someone might appreciate a recap should they not be aware that a 13th payment can be made, and/or they would like to change the monthly payment for the second year.0 -

That's right. What's the significance of a 13th payment in a two year account? There may be a '25th' payment of course....
If all possible payments are made would make 25 payments over the two year period.
Several months ago quite a few people were wondering if a payment could be made in March 2008 making a 13th payment in first year, I merely posted a reminder that it could.
Its fair to say that its not actually a 2 year account, merely that the 2.50% Gross Interest over Base Rate Guarantee lasts for 2 years.( in theory although unlikely, Loughborough could extend the guarantee beyond the second year, or could offer a lesser guarantee e.g 1.25% higher than base rate for a 3rd year, its equally possible that Loughborough will offer no rate guarantee incentive at the end of the second year and will be busy closing accounts.:rotfl: )
There may be those who wish to change the monthly payment (s) for the second year whom would like to make the 13th payment (s) of the existing amount in the first year
If Base Rates were to fall and fall "big" quickly then people might as well stick a lump sum in a top paying fixed rate bond than mess about drip feeding 250.00 + per month into the reg saver during the second year.0 -
Thanks BLF.
By the way, what's happened to your postings, you appear to have started using capitals at the beginning of sentences. Be careful, people will start to understand what you're saying! :-p0 -

I opened my account 27/3/07. Passbook stated 27/3/07 cheque (7/4/07). When I called Loughborough, I was told that this counted as my March payment. I have been paying in s/os at max of £250 a month since 1/4 therefore, so a payment of £250 will go in 4/3 appx. Do I need to do anything further to benefit from the 13th payment in March thing. Can someone explain? Sorry if I'm being a little dense!0

The payment u make on 4th March ish, will be the 13th payment, Loughborough confirmed earlier in the year that it is fine to make that payment.
Should anybody wish to change the payments for 2008/09 year then Loughborough need to be informed before the April 2008 payment is made.0
