A&L Direct Saver vs eSaver?
Currently got 19k sitting in an A&L Direct Saver. Noticed they are now doing an eSaver. Direct pays 6% (reduced .30% at last rate change) eSaver pays 6.5% Firstly can anyone tell me the difference between the two? I can't really see any? Apart from the eSaver gives free withdrawals in July? It would be beneficial for that…

IFA Question
Hi. This is a question to any IFAs, I was hoping you might be able to help. My parents IFA recommended an investment bond. I believe this was done wrongly as they are both basic and non tax payers. I have read that Investment bonds give IFAs large commissions and are therefore often recommended unnecessarily. Is there a…

HSBC reduce saving rates
It never took HSBC long. When the rates go up they are not so quick to pass that interest on. It normally takes them about 6 weeks. Message: Last month the Bank of England reduced the Base Rate by 0.25% to 5.50%. Following this, we have changed the rate of interest you earn on your Online Saver account from 5.75% AER to…

ICE Save go ISA with Monthly Interest at 5.94%
http://www.krbs.co.uk/directisa.aspx http://www.icesave.co.uk/easy-access-isa.html Thet both look quite good? Any advice which one? Have to admit, the two things i like about the ICE save ISA, is that you can manage it online, rather than snail mail? Also the interest is paid monthly which is quite novel!

Best broker to sell some shares simply & cheaply
Hi, I have some shares to sell. <£2K worth spread across 3 companies. I have share certificates for them. Can anyone recommend a cheap service for doing so? I.e. over the counter in a bank? (I'm sure Natwest used to do that) unless that's prohibitively expensive. I don't mind signing up to a cheap broker otherwise (I did…

Linking Tesco Savings account to current a/c
Hi, I have a Tesco Savings account. I've just tried to link it to my Natwest bank account (by adding myself as a new payee). During the process it asked for my sort code & account number, but that's all. At no stage did it ask for any way of identifying the bank, i.e. bank name, IBAN or whatever. Is that correct, that all…
