Was going to go with Newcastle B/S but

Options
see the rate is dropping nearer the end of the month for their netsaver. Think it was or is currently 6.43% gross (yearly)

Any other suggestions please? approx £25k to go somewhere (after Isa allowance used up)- also sufggestions for best rate there too!

Will we get better interest leaving £25k in one account or spreading it around a few places- e.g 1 savings account & drip feeding max of £500 a month into Yorkshire B/S 6.85% gross
Mortgage Balance May 25- £9975. Planning to be paid off by Dec 25🎄

How do you know this before it has happened (rates are currently unchanged) at Newcastle BS (though I would expect a reduction soon)?

If you are a tax-payer then index linked saving certs seem like a good idea for several reasons:

    1. Tax-free - means that the net rate of the certs beats nearly all NET saving a/c rates (assuming you are a tax-payer).
    2. Interest rates on normal savings accounts likely to fall in line with BofE rate.
    3. RPI likely to increase giving higher return on the savings certs.

You have to tie your money up for a min of 1 yr to get any return.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
