We had a joint personal account and I am executor of his estate (debts) as mother of our only son. I got…

Reclaiming from old bank accounts
Hi - I have a question about reclaiming. I'm currently thinking about changing my bank account but I'm concerned that if I close my existing current account I won't be able to reclaim charges from it in the future, or get the statements necessary to identify the charges I wish to reclaim. Will I forfeit the right to get…

Direct Debit not set up by Halifax - I'm being charged
Hi all So I took the advice of this website and two months ago applied for, and recieved, a Halifax Cashback Credit Card. Now I'm usually pretty good at doing things right, but in this instance it seems that the Direct Debit was not set up, as my card is now blocked and I'm being charged late fees and interest. I'm 100%…

reclaim disaster!
Hi, I am new to this forum but I felt I had to get this off my chest. As my username suggests, I am a financial nightmare. If I can make a bad financial decision, I will. I don't intend to, but it happens. I take full responsibility, I am reasonably intelligent and know what I am doing most of the time. However, when it…

Want to put in 2nd claim, would we meet hardship rules?
Hi all, back in December 2006 I started the process of reclaiming from HSBC, I requested a total of £4409 be refunded. I receieved a settlement offer of £3595. Good Morning! I've currently been having arguments with RBS since November '08 regarding my account. They originally charged me for a failed payment, and when I sent them in a letter of complaint in November 2008 they ignored my letter. (They claim that they didn't receive it) I then wrote to them again in February but…

Claiming Back Bank Charges?
Hi, Back when I was very young and niave (from about 18-21 and I'm 25 now) I had bank accounts with Barclays, Llloyds TSB and Natwest which all went overdrawn with bank charges. Can we claim for unfair bank charges after a claim?
I have a similar scenario to Lukey84 that has already been posted. I managed to reclaim 'unfair bank charges' just prior to the current refund/claim freeze due to the ongoing test case. Whilst I have managed as far as possible to keep within my agreed current account overdraft, the current economic climate has…
