Reclaiming from old bank accounts

Hi - I have a question about reclaiming. I'm currently thinking about changing my bank account but I'm concerned that if I close my existing current account I won't be able to reclaim charges from it in the future, or get the statements necessary to identify the charges I wish to reclaim.

Will I forfeit the right to get these charges back if I close the account, or will it be more difficult to get the money back?
