Just fallen victim to a phishing scam
I think I have just fallen victim to a phishing scam. I had an email titled "We're received your payment of "Last Battleground: Mech" Coin on January 31, 2019 Thanks ! - (Auto-reply)" I haven't and would never buy this. I clicked on the link to cancel with Apple, put my Apple ID in and password and the cancel form looked…

Hermes praise.
Now that is a title that isn't seen very often. A reminder to those who send parcels/packages and try to save a few pennies by not paying for the extra cover in the event of loss. I sent an eBay sale via Hermes which was showing as out for delivery on the 10th Jan.. It wasn't delivered. Total value, including Hermes' fee…

Warning Valspar Paints
I used a premixed grey silk emulsion over a previously painted silk pastel colour and it was hard work. Paint was thin, no opacity had to 3 coat to get it to cover. Inferior product and one to avoid. Also a terrible odour when I opened the tin. YUK

Scammed from Gumtree Advert
Before I start, this is entirely and completely my own fault. I should have been a little more diligent and not tried to "Do it on the cheap". Scam artists are always on the look out for people like me. So, my washing machine broke down and I cannot afford a new one so I looked in Gumtree Nottingham and there was a vast…

Amazon "probably delivered"
I ordered something from Amazon which was due to be delivered by 8pm today. It hasn't arrived and the tracking now says "Your package was probably delivered, as we expected it to arrive by now". I'm not complaining as it will probably turn up tomorrow, just a bit bemused as I've never come across this before.

A "not what I want to hear" vent.
Is it only me or has anyone else noticed that there seems to be a sudden rise in the number of people posting questions on the MSE forums who when they don't get the replies that they were hoping for are having tantrums, throwing toys out their prams, insulting others or deleting their original posts? I know that sometimes…
-
Race to the bottom?
While I applaud services like MSE that aim to find the lowest price, isn't this at a cost? The lowest price is not necessarily the best, or even good, value. By choosing, say, Sky or Talktalk broadband you may get cheap rates for a while but the quality of service is usually very poor. Ditto for energy, choose the cheapest…

TKMAXX and Parking Eye
I did not want to post this on the parking fine forum as this is more a warning. Equally not sure if its praise. My wife shopped at local TK Maxx just before Christmas. She spent just over £200 and queued for 15 minutes or so to pay. She overstayed the 3 hour parking limit by 11 minutes and as a Christmas gift received a…

Sainsbury’s home delivery - freezer items
Recently, Sainsbury’s have been delivering frozen food in a defrosted state. Ice cream is nearly liquid. Apart from the food safety issue of food being defrosted and refrozen, the ice cream is horrible as it is full of ice crystals. Anyone else experiencing problems with Sainsbury’s home delivery and defrosted freezer…

Tesco own brand best before dates
This must have been raised before, but I do my shopping normally on a Friday evening so like to pick out the longest dates to last me at least part-way through the next week. I've noticed that Tesco own brand fruit and veg no longer has a 'best before' date. Instead there is just a numeric code. I assume that the highest…

Free Computer with Broadband - What Now?
To summarise: It truly looked (looks) like a legitimate scheme for people on low incomes, but I've made four direct debit payments for broadband and still have not received the promised free computer. ***** I have been a carer for someone with severe mobility issues for 15 years, and as this takes up so much of my time, I…

DPD - 3 weeks waiting on a parcel. Can't change address. Can't contact via phone & wont reply emails
I ordered something a few weeks ago. I know i'm pretty specific with my delivery slots which doesn't make it easy but at the same time it shouldn't be that difficult. Due to the cost of the item i am not willing to leave it with a neighbour or a 'safe place'. At Xmas my brother had a low cost item 'delivered' by Yodel,…

Santander - Loan and PPI.
I’m looking for some advice. I have a credit card with Santander and serveral other accounts one with an overdraft. I decided I was going to take control of my finances this year. I applied for a loan with Santander at the end of December. The Loan was declined. I appealed and today I received a letter today saying it was…

Switching Energy Suppliers
I followed Martin's advice and when Sainsburys Energy said they were going to increase my monthly payments by 75% I decided then was a good time to change suppliers. It was only well after the cooling off period that I was landed with a £40 bill for changing before the contract ran out. When I said that Martin Lewis had…

My fault or not my fault?
In early December I got a message from my sister saying she was thinking about buying an under 17's driving lesson for my eldest son for Christmas, and if she did would I be available to take him. I'm separated from my ex and live elsewhere now and I have my kids every 2nd weekend. It fell on a weekend where I was due to…

Hotelsclick and Hotelsquickly warning
Just a word of warning to anyone booking a hotel or trip via the travel websites. On 1st January 2018 I booked the H10 London Waterloo for New Years Eve 2018/19 through hotelquickly.com via Trivago. I paid £211:62 via my current account and received a confirmation email. On 6th December (11 months later!) I received an…

can someone explain to me supermarket stocking
So Tesco have had certain items "unavailable" for 14 weeks now online, I have been tracking, they available globally but not on my post code. Typically its the tesco branded value stuff. But not always, certian brands seem to be almost perma not available. Yet I know the store its picked from has them in stock, so either…

Hermes
I'm surprised there isn't a sticky thread for Hermes. Ordered some shirts online. Delivered to "a neighbour". No attempt from Hermes to come to our house (CCTV shows no access). None of my nearby neighbours know anything about it. Complained to vendor, and to their credit they responded within an hour to say they've…

Does this seem fair?
Hey! So basically our house got broken into a couple of months back and a few things got stolen. One of the things that got stolen was a fairly old (not worth very much) sat nav that my partner had borrowed from a friend. His friend has got a new sat nav (£100+) on credit and my boyfriend is paying it all off. Now to me…
