DPD - 3 weeks waiting on a parcel. Can't change address. Can't contact via phone & wont reply emails

I ordered something a few weeks ago. I know i'm pretty specific with my delivery slots which doesn't make it easy but at the same time it shouldn't be that difficult.
Due to the cost of the item i am not willing to leave it with a neighbour or a 'safe place'. At Xmas my brother had a low cost item 'delivered' by Yodel, except it never arrived. After phone calls (one of which cost £20 in the end!) the driver described the door & surroundings of where he delivered it. There was nothing my brother can do so i can only assume the driver dropped the parcel off, photographed it, picked the parcel back up & left with it having 'delivered' it.
Anyway back on topic...
I can only really have my parcel delivered on one specific weekday or a weekend.
DPD had been scheduling to deliver in a suitable timeframe but on an unsuitable day. I rescheduled to the weekday that'd be ok (as my mother finishes work early on this day).
Typical ... the time they wanted to deliver was now earlier than original. So i had to reschedule as my mother wouldn't be home in time. I selected a Saturday.
I waited in on the Saturday ... it never arrived. I got an email saying that i had 'rescheduled delivery' (i hadn't).
So i thought ok i'll change the address to my home address & my wife would wait in on the Saturday. That was yesterday. 10:30 i get a message to say i had rescheduled delivery (again, i hadn't) for next week.
The delivery is now scheduled for my home address tomorrow but nobody will be in Monday-Friday so that is pointless.
I'm trying to change the address back to my mothers but the website wont let me.
I try to phone them 0121 275 0500 but i get no change address option and worse - i get no option to speak to a person.
I emailed them last Saturday to ask what happened with their driver, i get a reply on the Sunday asking for security info (first line of address, email address, phone number etc) which i instantly provide & hear nothing back since.
I email them yesterday morning, again so far - nothing.
Are you only able to change address once with them or something?
How can you actually speak to someone who can do something? Their twitter redirects you to an email address (which they then don't bother helping you through).
And no, i can't leave it with a neighbour and as said, i am not prepared to leave it in a 'safe place' due to cost. I'm not having any delivery driver 'delivering' this unless it's to someone at my house or my mother's.
And no i can't get it delivered to my work either - we're not allowed.

I was finally able to speak to someone at DPD. Found a 'DPD local' number.
Basically the sender puts restrictions on the order so neither I nor DPD can change the address, even to the original address. I need to get in touch with the sender.
DPD couldn't offer a reason as to why they had failed to deliver on a weekend 2 weeks in a row.
Hopefully i can just cancel the order because this is getting too drawn out.0 -
Can you not leave it so it gets returned to sender so you can buy from elsewhere.
Is it a specific item that only 1 website sell ?0 -
Saturday deliveries usually cost more so if you/your sender haven't paid the extra for a weekend delivery that could be why it keeps rescheduling to a weekday which is the service they've been paid and contracted to provide.0

I told them if it doesn't get delivered this week then i'll be looking to cancel the order and go elsewhere as it's not worth the hassle. They just told me if it doesn't get delivered then i should call them and they'll discuss my options.0 -
Now only just recently my new phones were to come on a Monday. I arranged to pick up from DPDs depot. One was faulty and was replaced two days after at same depot. No problem. No need to get neighbores involved or even consider my late mother!0

You cant pick a specific date AND time. That’s not in the service they offer, and the Saturday issue has been covered.
You’re being far too picky0 -

2) It has not been covered. It might have been in your eyes because it suits your argument but DPD themselves say they cannot understand why it wasn't delivered Saturday and offer their apologies. No mention of what was mentioned here.
Oh and DPD themselves emailed me to say they put a mark on the delivery for it to be after a suitable time today. Predictably it was attempted well before that but i expected as much. DPD didn't say they can't put that mark on the delivery, they said they can no problem.0 -
DPD can out a mark on the delivery but the driver will deliver when he is that area. What would happen if he had 50 deliveries for different areas with similar time slots? How could he manage them all?0

And no, it hasn't been covered. I've tried numerous times for an explanation from DPD. They dance around it without giving me a reason. Just apologising and they can understand my frustration is about the extent of their response.
I'm not bothered about their apology or how they also couldn't care less about my frustration, i want a reason why. They just wont give one.0
