TKMAXX and Parking Eye

I did not want to post this on the parking fine forum as this is more a warning. Equally not sure if its praise.
My wife shopped at local TK Maxx just before Christmas. She spent just over £200 and queued for 15 minutes or so to pay.
She overstayed the 3 hour parking limit by 11 minutes and as a Christmas gift received a parking "fine" from Parking Eye of £100 reducing to £60 if paid immediately.
She telephoned TKMaxx who said do not worry we will get Parking Eye to cancel it. A week later a further demand, rerang TKMaxx who said yes Parkingeye usually ignore us but we will have it cancelled. We then wrote ,signed for, explaining to Parkingeye copy to TKM that TKM had said the charge would be renewed and eventually Parkingeye and TKM confirmed the charge was dropped.
TKMaxx were reasonable Parkingeye use no discretion. So if you overstay in a TKMaxx carpark by even a minute expect an invoice. Then its up to you to convince TKMaxx that you overstayed for a reason and spend time doing so.
I suppose it limits the time and money my wife can spend shopping. I'm not sure about TKMaxx but perhaps they want to discourage lengthy shopping trips to their store and so employ the inflexible Parkingeye.(Refer the Parking forum for comments on them)

Most TKMaxx stores are either on high streets or on retail parks with other shops, I've never seen nor heard of one that's on its own. The carparks on these retail parks are generally dealt with through the land owner/management company and the individual shops have little to no input or say in what happens in the carpark.

Our TK Maxx is on a retail park with others, so people go to several shops in one visit. Parking is always limited on these places so expect a letter if you go over your time.

I was four minutes over at Aldi and got a letter from Parking Eye. I took it to Aldi with the receipt that I had spent £33 there, and the very helpful manager said ignore it and I will get it cancelled. He said I will get more letters, I did, and ignored them. The last letter said nothing to pay.

Always keep your receipts, and go back to the shop with the letter. Hopefully you might get a helpful manager to sort it.

The motoring sub forum covers this subject well. Unless it’s a council fine then ignore it as proof of who was actually driving the car (not the owner) is up to the parking company.
