Dog not happy...
I'm looking after my son's dog, a male chocolate labrador built like a tank at 14 months old, for two weeks while they are away. My dog Lucy is fine about it and just warns him off if he tries to nick her chew bones or food. But Jack is being bullied unmercifully. Gets his bones taken off him if I'm not quick enough to…

Cat - hyperthyroidism
Stupid Cat's just been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid (he's 10). Anyone had any experience of this? Tips on how to get them to take the tablets (he eats round it if I try to put in it his food). What treatment options (surgery, radiation etc.) were you offered and what did you go for? TIA.

Vet in Beeston, Nottingham
I posted a thread a while back looking for recommendations for a vet in Beeston, Nottingham. I'm very happy to update that I've settled at Churchcroft Vets, Chilwell. Small, friendly practice with excellent personal service. My cat Ghost was treated there recently and I couldn't have been happier with their care of him.…

Can any one help with my dog, please?
Approx 4 weeks ago we rescued a Yorkshire terrier.:j He was about to be euthanized due to the fact he had been adopted 3 - 4 previous times and each time he was taken back it was either because the new owners felt he was aggressive or he was a persistent barker. He hasn't been treated very well by at least one of the…

Hours and hours of entertainment....
I inherited my mum's cat last year - she a chunky (:o) 17 yo and has always liked ping pong balls. Now, I remember mum always complaining to us that Tigger kept her up all hours with the ball hitting the skirting board... I wasn't that sympathetic at the time but now I have to live with it.... it's been driving us nuts.…

rescue animals
I am looking at getting a rescue dog and I know they do a lot of checks etc. Does anyone know if they ask for proof of home ownership? I know if you rent they want a letter from your landlord to say they agree to you getting a pet. Thanks in advance

New puggle.......
So, we have a new member of the family, a three year old puggle. We've rehomed him, and he's joined us tonight. He's a great little fella, very loving and docile. He's a bit bewildered, which is understandable, but seems happy enough. Just taken him out for a walk and he's great on the lead, and he's had something to eat.…

My two baby boys are being netured tomorrow. They are ten months old now, the breeder told us not to get them done until a year old but we now know we should never have listened to her as she doesnt know what she is talking about. One of the boys has started calling / wetting the bed (which I assume is spraying) so he…

RIP Fuzzy-Peg
I found my guinea pig had passed away this morning. She was standing up like she was alive but she had gone :( She hadn't shown any signs of illness - she was 5 so I think it was just her time to go. It's so sad, she was such a lovely GP.

Problems with Animal Friends Pet Insurance
Hi, I need some advice please? I am having issues with a company called Animal Friends who are refusing to pay out on a policy. We mistakenly used dog flea treatment on our cat instead of cat flea treatment . He didn't survive as the treatment poisoned him. The vet bill came to nearly £2K. Even though we are covered for…
