Hours and hours of entertainment....

I inherited my mum's cat last year - she a chunky (:o) 17 yo and has always liked ping pong balls.

Now, I remember mum always complaining to us that Tigger kept her up all hours with the ball hitting the skirting board... I wasn't that sympathetic at the time but now I have to live with it.... it's been driving us nuts.

Anyway, we put a ping pong ball into an oval plastic laundry basket - and the old girl can't get enough of it... she is in there off and on for hours at a time.

She likes the way the ball rolls around in the ridge at the edges... she can sit in there for 10 minutes just using her paws to roll it backwards and forwards.

She also stalks it from the outside and then pushes the basket round the floor and pokes her paws through the holes.

She does get the ball out sometimes but she seems to prefer to keep it in the basket - result :T.

....... until you walk down in the morning and step in a laundry basket at the bottom of the stairs and nearly break your neck :D!

Have yours got any favourites?

My friend bought a lovely furry, large mouse for my cat many years ago when she came from Wales to visit.

It is now the oldest, smelliest and shabbiest toy in the house, naturally it is the favourite :rotfl:

She likes to roll over with it and do the "lion death grip/kickaroo" on it, and the other day I actually saw her pick it up with her mouth and give it a shake.

Friend is now an ex-friend so I did say to my cat "at least she got you that nice toy even if she turned out to be horrid!"

She also really likes the freebie toy I got from Zoo Plus rewards. A Trixie feather wand, I can get her to go round in circles with it (she manages 3 before collapsing on herself lol :rotfl: ) which i've never been able to manage with other toys.

Will be paying money for some more next time i order!
  • A catnip carrot is Tess's current favourite toy, it's so old I doubt it even smells & her new catnip squirrel with catnip that I put in myself is ignored lol

Do they still make those dynamite catnip toys with the rope 'fuse'?

A few years ago, my old girl used to love those... we used to take the bell off straight away and then it would last her about an hour... but she enjoyed every minute of its destruction :D.
