Cat pee in the carpet, d'oh...
My cat is spot-on with his litter tray and I've never had any problems with him, until a couple of weeks ago. I had a house guest for the weekend, and the change in routine upset him. He peed on the carpet in the hallway twice, in two different spots close to each other. I cleaned them up with a dilute mixture of surgical…

Hi, Would appreciate some advice: We have a woman next door who has a number of pets, cats & dogs. I caught her cat blatantly pooing in my garden (dug a trench in the mud), just outside my patio door, i bashed the window & it just started at me carrying on with its business!. Now when i asked the neighbour to look into…

Feeding an Elderly Dog
Firstly, I'd like to state that Dog goes to the vet pretty much every week, and I'm not seeking vet-type advice on this thread. I took on the care of a 13 year old dog three years ago, so she's now 16. She has always had a tricky digestive system and the vet is treating that as an ongoing condition. There is only one…

What to do with an agressive (possibly pregnant) stray
Hi there, We live in the countryside. About a year ago my husband was driving to pick me up and spotted 4 or 5 little black kittens at the side of the road. We suspected they might have been dumped there and as we had just adopted 2 new helpless little kittens, the thought of this really upset me. We resolved to bring them…

cat litter - clumping -v- non clumping
Hi Folks I've recently adopted two kittens which now makes me a four cat household. I've been using the non clumping cat litter (the pink one from pets at home, 30 litre size) and I'm thinking about possibly changing. the cats now have pink paws and there's a bit of dust, although non are ever dust free. I personally don't…

Cat's who gobble their food!
I went to the vets yesterday as I was worried about how quickly my cat (well, kitten/monster!) eats! He was neutured about 3 months ago and literally as soon as he was home, his appetite was insatiable! The vet yesterday suggested, to help him eat slower, to get a coke bottle and cut holes just bigger than the food in the…

Cats insurance has skyrocketed - not sure what to do
My cat has had a skin issue for sometime where he overgrooms so vets give him a steroid injection (of which I have only learnt recently could potentially give my cat diabetes later in life) every 6-8weeks which cost around £55. Cats insurance last year was £25 per month (he's on unlimited plan with More Th>n) but yesterday…

Joint care question
I feed my dog Wainwrights dried & wet food. I buy the one for mature dogs 7+. It specifies on the bag that it is for joint care. I also give him a Pedigree joint care stick each day. Question is: could I be over doing it, or is it ok to feed both?

Why is my area so bad that I can't rehome your cat?
I've been looking for a friend for my boy and just wanted a rant. I've passed the Cats Protection home test, they contacted me about a cat who needed a new home because her owners were moving into a flat that they coudn't take the cat into. I phoned up to ask to see it and the owner said that because I lived in the main…

Unusual litter trays
I'm looking for ideas for novel litter trays. I've seen some where an ikea storage box had a hole cut in the side. Basically, I'm looking for a litter tray but in disguise......or hidden in something attractive. Any ideas?

Up until about 7 days ago my back garden used to get visited by numerous cats during the day there would be Hoover Cat, her tabby buddy, Limpy Cat, Black Cat, Ginger Cat, Black Cat with white socks and a few others. Since then nothing, not even a glimmer or distant sighting. Whats going on?
