Help!!!
Pleeeese could someone help me out and advise me where I can go to get a decent but fairly cheap Lifetime Cover Pet Insurance! I've been with Petwise for a few years now and not had any bother but all of a sudden they've written to tell me that the premiums are going to be £51.34 per month! I think that's just a bit too much just for one cat. I've tried the 'go compare' comparison site but I'm even more confused now, so many different policies and so much small print. I'd appreciate any help!!

I went with More>Than a few weeks ago and got a years premium for £90 something for a 9yr old female. I did go for a £200 excess though as its a mega bill I am scared of.
I got £70 top cash back too.0 -
Thanks a bundle Tosca2 I'll have a look at their policies hopefully I'll be able to get one that I understand!!!!! Like you I'm afraid of getting a whopper of a bill from the vets, but after looking at soooo many different kinds of policies and reading sooooo much small print my head stopped working after a few hours and I've come to a full stop! I'll try More>Than tomorrow though. Thanks again.0

me too rosielea its a nightmare. I been looking for 3 days cant really afford much more than 12 a month as already paying 12 for healthy pet club and know that no one will treat maxs eye condition as pre existing. Already been stung for over 1000 for that op. Just want to get him covered for anything else that arises and find an insurer that will actually pay up and not squirm out. What a headache.
UPDATE july 2014 went with Churchill in end and they just payed up 3000 for an op on my dogs leg....elbow dysplasia.0 -
you could try M&S pet insurance, I have both our pets insured with them. And it is Lifetime Cover0

The problem with M&S is that they can change underwriters at any time which they did before and the cover deteriorated quite drastically.
In my opinion you are better insuring directly with an underwriter.
I moved to AXA and I currently pay £11.84 per month for my 13 year old cat for lifetime cover.0 -
.... and another thing.... can anyone tell me why on earth you have to give so much information about yourself (age, tel no., e-mail add., etc.) when asking for a quote for pet insurance! I've always hated giving out any personal info on the Net and feel really nervous about having to just to get an idea of how much their premiums might be!0
-
1) I was alsways giving fake info for quotes as did not want anyonhe to call me/email me till I decided which quote to go for
2) Price will vary according to quite a few things, my cats are around £20 each (3 with petplan, 1 with Argos Platinum) but my daughter's cats 9same age) are £10 each for the same, life time cover of up to 7k, This is because I am in London and is in Cumbria
3) Price will also vary depending on how much cover you want - my lot are insured for 7k each
All the best...
BTW - the vet "plans" are total waste of money IMHO, why would anyone want to pay £12 per month for what? Flea treatment/worming is cheap online. Yearly boosters? Everything else insurance will cover so....Personally would take better insurance instead of "vet plan"0 -
SUCCESS!!!
Well, everyone, I finally got 'Kinky' his insurance! After lots of sleepness nights on the trusty laptop reading pages and pages of smallprint I've now got lifetime cover with Pet Plan for £11.87 per month with £7000 per condition per year and £65 excess. Not too bad considering all the rubbishy policys there are out there.
Thanks all you peeps for your advice and giving me a few pointers. Luv you all :-)0 -
£7000 per condition per year and £65 excess
I think it is per year and not per condition per year ? If it was per condition per year you could claim say 7k for diabeties and 7k for surgery in the same year... doubt it.
Have a good look at your policy please.0 -
OOooohh! Give me 10 mins., I'll have another read!
Yeah, you're right, I think it's still pretty good considering I was paying over £20 for the same conditions but with only £4000 cover.0
