Does the kitten need to be fed more?

I've been feeding our kitten 3-3 1/2 pouches of wet food a day (kitten food). He has recently started waking me up around 3:30-4am for more food. I've been getting up when he wakes me giving him a 1/2 apouch, then feeding him a pouch again at 6:30, then giving him another pouch when I get home from work and then occasionally giving him 1/2 pouch before bed.

Last night I tried giving him a full pouch before bed (around 4 hours after his tea) which he devoured, then got woke up and gave him a full pouch at 4am which he ate and then he ate 3/4 of the pouch at 7. I've been worming him every month (he's nearly 5 months old) so it surely can't be worms. I've weighed him, he waighs 2.5kg which is apparently the correct weight (?).

Am I not feeding him enough? There is dry food available all day (Salem is a dry food eater mainly, his choice) but Gizmo does not really bother with it.

As Salem has always been a fan of dry food over wet it was always a case of filling up the bowl when it was nearly empty and just giving him a little wet food for breakfast and dinner so I have no experience really with wet food.

Could I maybe's try him on adult food (was thinking Butchers Classic since he eats so much) to see if that is more filling or is this not recommended?

After his early morning munch he does settle down and go back to sleep.
