More general advice re Lucky Lola the wonder pup
Hi guys So lola is doing well after her fight against Parvo, we'll have had her home 2 weeks this friday coming. I'm still a bit worried though. Her mood has 100% improved and she is eating well (James Wellbeloved dry food) Although I've noticed her poops are still runny and rarely hard, I'm not sure is this something I…

Can puppies get human hair lice?
Had pup 5 days now, noticed a bit of scratching but asked the vet to check when I took her for injections on Monday and he said she hadn't got fleas and that puppies do scratch. Just sitting with her on my knee today and saw something move, thought it would be a flea but it was definitely a "human" hair louse as I…

After much careful consideration and much deliberation, the other half and I have finally agreed that the time is right for a new addition to the ph household. So, we have researched and researched and think that a Whippet would be the ideal fit for us. I'd appreciate some info from any Whippet owners out there who can…

How to stop cat biting wound?
Our cat has a gash on his tail and keeps licking it, it's really sore. What can we put on it to stop him doing this and does anyone know if the vets will have any of those funnel type things that go over their heads to stop them biting or is the pet shop a quicker/cheaper option? thanks.

We adoped a jack russell from the local RSPCA rehoming centre 4 weeks ago now. After the first week of settling in he is now showing his real personality. We expected this but just wondered if anyone could offer us some advice on how best to deal with it (or recommend some reading). 1. He eats anything he finds on the…

Help with birds in the garden
Our front garden is half gravel and half planted up with bark on top of the soil. The birds keep throwing the bark all over the place to get to their dinner but it makes such a mess in the garden since most fo it ends up in the path or on the gravel. I am considering removing all the bark so that they don't make a mess but…

Help with dog going out timing please? (Plus pic) :)
Well we got our lab pup a couple of days ago and he's settled in really well. He got a free puppy health check from our local vet the same day he arrived home and she pronounced him fit, healthy and already well on his way to being well socialised as he was so good when she examined him. The first night in his crate he…

Dog Tricks
We have a 10month staff and she seems to love learning and I quite like the look on peoples' faces when she does random tricks. She knows all the basics, sit, down, stand, stay, come, heel etc. and we've also taught her things like bow (which is funny), crawl (which is hilarious), turn around and weave through our legs.…

Right I fancied getting a couple of Guinea Pigs for the DS ( and me if truth be known) and I went to Pets at Home and they've got Degus... looks like a cross between a chinchilla, a GP, and a Rat... Attention aquarists: I was at Prestwood Petzone (Stourbridge, Wmids) yesterday and they had a special offer on gold nugget plecs - 15.99 each. Last time I saw these on sale they were around 30 pounds. I was very tempted, but sadly don't have a tank big enough for these guys. Not sure which L-number these particular ones…
