You could try putting a litter tray there as well as in the usual place. It may be that it doesn't like the texture or smell of the litter. I have a cat that always does no1s in the kitchen where the floor is lino on the floor under the tray and no2s upstairs where it's carpet.
If you do get it to use the additional tray you should then be able to slowly move the tray away from the unit and across to the original tray
Good luck0 -
get some 'pet behave' spray from pets at home or similar- it's useful for stopping them scratching furniture too- and also make sure the litter tray you want her to use is far enough away from her food and water bowls too.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Put her food in the tv unit, cats won't go to the toilet where their food is0

I read some cats can get stage fright... is it worth covering part of the tray?My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
A couple of ideas that might help:
- Put a large cardboard box over the litter tray (with a hole in for a door). Maybe your kitty is shy.
- Get some Feliway spray from the Vet. It helped cure my old cat from peeing in the wrong place when I moved house
- Try putting orange peel in the tv unit, most cats don't like oils in the peel and keep well away.
- You could try a different cat litter - I've found the recycled paper based ones best for my cats.
Good Luck! Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

We had that problem with our cats - changed the litter, and they were all in it! Now we have 2 litter trays, and when we change them, we have 4 cats all instantly want to use it XD~*Cerenia*~
