Can puppies get human hair lice?

Had pup 5 days now, noticed a bit of scratching but asked the vet to check when I took her for injections on Monday and he said she hadn't got fleas and that puppies do scratch.
Just sitting with her on my knee today and saw something move, thought it would be a flea but it was definitely a "human" hair louse as I recognise them from my kids having them. I know me and the kids do not have them as we checked recently as there was another round of them going round at school. I then saw another one and got it and it is identical to the human ones. I couldn't see any nits though. Looked on internet and they are saying that they can't get human hair lice. Anybody know anything about this?

There are three ways to get something done; do it yourself, hire someone or forbid your kids to do it.
