I've only bought the cheapo stuff, either at Jollyes pet store or at dog shows. It's cheaper to buy a length off of a roll than shaped pieces.
The cheap stuff was fine for whelping (and I gave a piece to each of the new owners) but did get quite flat after lots of washing. If you need it for everyday bedding then the proper Vetbed might prove longer lasting."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -

How much did you roughly pay? Did you use just the one for whelping or did you have more than one? How long roughly does it take to dry? Does it stay dry as in absorb any liquids? The best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. Vet bed is completely non absorbent, liquids run straight through it. (So if you need to absorb liquid you put a pad or towel underneath it, although the backing material will absorb small amounts). That way vet bed itself always stays dry and warm, and the animal is never lying on a damp surface.
That makes it very hygenic, but also means it dries very fast. I use it all the time, in the car, in the house and in the garden in the summer. A large piece dries in a couple of hours max in the house at this time of the year. In the summer it'll dry outside in less than half an hour. You can tumble dry it too if you have a very cool setting on your dryer, but it stays fluffier if you dry it naturally.
In the past I bought the cheap stuff, but I found I had to replace it after a while because it loses it's fluffiness. I stick to proper vet bed now, and although it goes woolly after a while (it is fleecy to start with) it still stays soft and padded.
I've also started getting the non slip version, which has rubber strips on the back. My dog has bad legs and struggles to get up, and the non-slip version makes it much easier for him because it doesn't slide as he stands up.
I went halves with a friend on a huge roll of it off ebay. I bought it off 'fireinvestigationdog' and it was about £70 for a 5m roll. That would be way too much for most people though. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -

Liquids running straight through was what I actually thought but I didn't explain myself very well as I had oh at me for the Internet . I'm not that bothered about it lasting as long as it lasts a wash and a dry in the dryer a day for 8 weeks while I have the pups. What is the difference between the original and the non-slip apart from the obvious non-slip .The best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. Nothing, they both have a sort of webbing back, but the non slip version has rubber strips on the underside of it too. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -
Try this site: http://www.profleece.co.uk/
I have bought from there in the past and have found the bedding to be of good enough quality and reasonably priced.0
