Is there a way I can check when my ESTA expires? Do I receive any communication as to when it's about to expire, or is it my responsibility to keep a note of this? Thanks in advance. KP15

Paying for a holiday apartment in full in advance
I'm booking an apartment for a week in Italy next month. They're asking for full payment in advance to confirm my reservation. They also want a 150 euro cash desposit on arrival in case of breakages. Is it unusual to have to pay in full in advance for a holiday apartment?
