IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING USA BOOKINGS &
SECURE FLIGHT PASSENGER DATA
Please note that The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) require Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) to be entered into all Reservations held for travel on/after 15th September, traveling/transitting to the United States.
Customers planning to travel by air must provide the following data:
• Name as it appears on Passport
• Date of Birth
• Gender
It is vital to understand that SFPD is not an optional entry. Without SFPD, customers will not be allowed to travel.
Please submit your passenger details required immediately here or email us at TSAGM@goldmedal.co.uk to ensure that we have the full details above. Failure to provide these details may result in denied boarding and the possibility of fines up to $27,500 per person – SFPD must be present in the reservation at the time of ticketing or least 72 hours in advance of flight departure.
The TSA’s website also is an excellent source of reference www.tsa.gov/SecureFlight. Remember, this Secure Flight is a mandatory government programme. To unsubscribe from this newsletter, please click here

My initial gut feeling is scam but is anyone aware of this SFPD or received a similar email? When googling goldmedal it appears to be a webiste only travel agents can access.

Last night I booked American Airlines flights for January and they asked me for the same information.
We have been providing such information for countries such as Spain for years now, I guess the USA is catching up ?
Question is, have you booked anything through Goldmedal travel ?0 -
Goldmedal (in that form) is an agents only portal for booking flights through the trade. they do, however, booke direct under several different names. Certainly, based on the e-mail address given to submit your details, it does seem fine as that is how their e-mails are addressed (if it had been TSAGM@XXX.goldmedal.com i would have been suspicious).
if in doubt, either call or e-mail who you booked the flights through and double check.I used to be a Travel Agent Used to be a travel agent for 23 Years, but now out of the industry. However I will help with what i can.0 -
But if you hover over the email address it comes up with an odd address. My mum has booked through net flights but as far as i am aware it was a thompson flight? I can try to call them later.:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

netflights/gold medal are part of the Thomas Cook Group. Goldmedal are the operators for Netflights
we in work have been told if we get the above email to currently ignore it.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
I called gold medal and there was an message whilst waiting to be put through saying I calling about the SFPD to email them using an email address they gave on the message, I did and have double checked the address but I haven't heard anything back yet, so I have resent it in case it got lost.:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

If is a scam it's difficult to see the point of it - sounds more like an e-mail distribution list gone wrong0

This is genuine, I've booked a flight with netflights who are part of gold medal - I received this email, I called them and it's because as of today the us government require further detail before entering the states to be included in the reservation. Failure to do so may mean denied boarding, and is mandatory for every flight company! They took my details over the phone maybe worth calling if your worried.0

We've had this message from Netflights:
"Netflights.com would like to apologise to customers for the confusion caused by this email alert. Unfortunately, due to an email distribution error, netflights.com customers booked to travel to the USA on or after 15 September 2010 may have received this email alert from netflights.com which was mistakenly branded Gold Medal.
To clarify, netflights.com and Gold Medal are both trading names of Gold Medal Travel, which is part of Thomas Cook Group plc.
This is not SPAM mail and contains important information for all netflights.com customers travelling to the USA on or after 15 September 2010. The US Department of Homeland Security has stipulated that Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) be entered into all reservations held for travel on/after 15th September, travelling to, or transitting the United States and that failure to provide these details may result in denied boarding.
We will be contacting all affected netflights.com customers with a further email alert today (15 September 2010) to clarify the situation.
The netflights.com team would like to once again apologise for any confusion caused."0
