Can anyone please advise? We're flying with Jet2. We're within the weight limits for hold and hand luggage. We've been asked to pick up some plonk in Manchester duty free, once we've checked in, to take out to Turkey. Will we be able to take a duty free bag on as well as our hand luggage?
Thanks, haven't flown with these before but have heard they are very strict.

They cannot stop you to take duty free bought at the airport.
This is how airports make money and so they have an agreement with flight companies.
It will need to be in a duty free bag though.0 -

They can (Ryanair, for example, make you fit it within your one piece of hand luggage) but I don't think that Jet2 have restrictions, unless you are clearly taking the Michael.
Jet2, the last time I flew with them, had no problem with carrier bags from within the airport (duty free, WH Smith, etc).Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
both the above posts are correct. with jet2 you should have no problem taking duty free on board providing it is unopened and in the bag provided. again, make sure that it is just 1 additional bag per person. Ryanair, on the other hand, will have a sentry at the aircraft entrance and, if you are carrying more than 1 bag (including shopping bags, hand bags, laptops etc) then unless you can pack everything into 1 bag which then fits into the size limits of their hand baggage allowances, your booking can be CANCELLED WITHOUT REFUND.
Read it here, from the Ryanair website:Each passenger (excluding infants) is permitted to carry one piece of cabin baggage on board (free of charge). Strictly one item of cabin baggage is permitted per passenger (excluding infants). Your handbag, briefcase, laptops, shop purchases, camera etc must be carried within your permitted 1 piece of cabin baggage. It should weigh no more than 10kg and not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. Due to security restrictions - certain items cannot be carried in cabin baggage - click here for details. For the safety and convenience of all passengers, cabin baggage must fit underneath the seat or in the overhead compartment. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation without refund and to deny you boarding if you arrive at the boarding gate with more than one item of cabin baggage or if that item exceeds the maximum dimensions.I used to be a Travel Agent Used to be a travel agent for 23 Years, but now out of the industry. Many thanks. It will be in a duty free bag unopened.
Just another question. I've just checked their site for bag dimensions. Our cabin bag is well within width and depth measurements. The height is just inside. Its under 10kg. Do they weigh them or check the measurements? I know I should be ok either way but I'm curious.0 -
They don't always weigh or check them with Jet2.
They usually just give them a quick look, and go by the size of the bag.
So if it looks oversize they will weigh it, if it looks ok they don't.0 -
Apparently, worth watching Watchdog tonight.0

I work for Jet2.com at Manchester and all of the above posts are pretty much spot-on. You are allowed to take on an additional bag of 'duty free' purchased after security and as long as your hand luggage bag looks ok, you won't have a problem. If it looks a bit big or heavy, you may be asked to place it in the gauge either at check-in or at the boarding gate to make sure it is within the limits. This space has been intentionally left blank0
