Sticky for Recipes
Used there be a sticky for recipes? I'm looking for a recipe that used to be on here years ago for homemade hobnobs that everyone used to go mad for. Me and my daughters used to make them, but I have lost the recipe.

Didn't know where this should go. Help cleaning radiators.
I have several cats and need to tackle the tops of the radiators where fur has collected. Is there some sort of brush I can buy that goes through each panel , and can knock all the fur to the bottom and out to be hoovered. Also, one/maybe two of the radiators has a grid on it that won't come off, so how would I go about…

Ineffective yeast
Wondering if anyone has experienced this? I buy Allinson easy bake yeast for use in my breadmaker. It's a little tin with an airtight lid however I'm finding (this is the third time it has happened) that once it has been opened it has a really short shelf life. I open d this tin just at the end of November 2017, it has a…

GF baking
I have recently made GF rock cakes and a GF Banana Loaf. Both tasted nice and looked as they should. I have been using Doves Farm GF Self Raising. The only problem was that both things were a bit on the dry side and crumblier than I'd like. The rock cakes were almost biscuity. Neither of the recipies I've used had Xanthan…

Feeding/watering a group of builders
We are having some work started on our house next week and I expect a small team of builders, plumbers, plasterers etc to be on site for probably 4-6 weeks. Knowing how important it is to keep workmen happy I have bought some cups from the £ shop as well as leaving out plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits for them to…

Miele vacuum cleaner - hard to push
I've got the C3 cat&dog model. The hard floor brush is great but when using the main ecoteq floorhead, it's a nightmare to push it around, especially on carpet. I've adjusted the settings to the lowest suction but it still just 'sticks' and it takes serious effort to move it. I'm reasonably young and fit so I can't imagine…

Quick question re: pork crackling
I am shortly going to put a pork joint in the slow cooker for dinner but want to do crackling so do I put it all in the slow cooker and take the bit off for crackling later on to put it in the oven or do I do it now before I put it in the slow cooker?

Pressure cooker lid
The lid of my 6ltr Fissler Vitavit Premium fell off the counter onto a stone floor snapping the handle off. A quick Google shows that a new lid is £159.99. Have been told that it's possible to buy just the handle bit but can't seem to find it. Anyone have any ideas? Not having a pressure cooker at this time of year is…

Weekly Flylady Thread 15th January 2018
What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole task easier and quicker. We also…

Sunday Roast
I've never cooked a Sunday roast, but I'd like to. There are four of us but I wondered what is the best cut or joint of meet to buy and roughly what weight? Hopefully I will be buying it from a local butcher.... Any recommendations, tips or cooking instructions would be handy too!? Thanks in advance.

Anyone care to share their menu plans and shopping lists
I have been very haphazard with my shopping in the last year. No real planning. Spending too much money but also time in the supermarket as a result. Came across the Eat not spend site and loved it. But we're mainly veggie and not all the recipes appealed. Plus I needed recipes that would use up the ingredients already in…
