Miele vacuum cleaner - hard to push

I've got the C3 cat&dog model. The hard floor brush is great but when using the main ecoteq floorhead, it's a nightmare to push it around, especially on carpet. I've adjusted the settings to the lowest suction but it still just 'sticks' and it takes serious effort to move it.

I'm reasonably young and fit so I can't imagine how an elderly person would cope with this. It will lift the carpet off the floor. My old vacuum cleaner was much higher wattage but had nothing like the suction of this thing.

It does do a great job at cleaning. The carpets actually looked slightly different after the first time I used it but it's very hard work. Has anyone else had this problem? Or know anything that could help? Miele is a well-respected brand and I'm a bit disappointed that it's so exhausting to use.

I bought a compact model and have exactly the same problem, impossible to push forward, when I use it I tend to use the attachments. I have since received a cordless dyson for a birthday gift and use this for a quick clean.

Just had wooden floors installed downstairs so Miele is used less and less.

I wouldn't be happy in your position! Miele products cost a pretty penny, presumably this is still under guarantee?

I'd look at YouTube for product reviews - you can find them for nearly every product, although subjectivity plays its part, this happens less with people that regularly test any given item of tech, including homewares. If it matches your experience, I'd return it and buy a more suitable product for your floors.

I bought it just before Christmas so it's still under guarantee but I didn't think I could use that, since it doesn't seem 'faulty', just hard to use.

I've looked up YouTube reviews and something doesn't seem right. This model is actually being recommended for carpet. Mine just clamps onto the carpet and the suction is so strong that the bag-full indicator goes completely red. Also they all describe it as 'very quiet'. Mine is seriously loud! I've got used to it but the first time I turned it on I honestly thought to myself that this will cause hearing loss over time.

You should not have to adapt to a premium priced product - the beauty of these items (I’m thinking specifically about Apple and a Dyson here) is that they minimise labour. Get back to the manufacturer’s with a clear plan in mind. Do you want a replacement or refund?

I already contacted Miele about it and they weren't any help. They kept saying that their vacuum cleaners are very high powered. I told them that it should be possible to use it on carpet and they just said 'You would think so'. They said it was strange that I found it so noisy but refused to offer either an exchange or refund.

I bought it from Amazon but it's out of the 14 day cooling off period and since Miele say it isn't faulty, I don't know if amazon would help. Also I didn't keep the packaging.

Ive a Miele cat and dog and have had it 12 years and it's extremely quiet

However it's rubbish on my bedroom carpet for the simple reason the pile has flattened against the grain so to speak , it is only a cheap carpet

On rugs I have to open up the vent to stop it sucking those up. I easily do curtains and the furniture

Very poor customer service. Although I am impressed by their apparent ability to diagnose that it was functioning properly over the phone.

Am assuming it cost over £100? If you paid by credit card, invoke section 75: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases

I have a miele complete (cylinder) and indeed it is very powerful. I have never used it above 2/3 on the lower control and always need to reduce power and have the vent open for rugs. It would drive me bonkers if I were cleaning a carpet.

Unfortunately my house is about two thirds carpeted. It is driving me bonkers. My friend recommended this Miele to me. It's only later I realised that she has no carpet at all.

I think I'll contact Amazon about it and see what they say. Could anyone recommend a good vacuum cleaner? At the time, I was also considering a Hetty (Henry looks a big too big for my little house). Now that I've experienced Miele's customer service, I'm reluctant to accept an exchange.

I would advise you contact Amazon, as I once had an issue with an appliance which the manufacturer had dismissed as nothing, but Amazon replaced it a couple of months outside of the 14 day period.
