Save Money Good Food ITV
Did anyone see this tonight? It was an almost carbon copy of BBC's Eat Well For Less. Get a family who have no idea what they're spending on the weekly shop and show them how to be smarter with their buying choices, stop throwing away food, and how to cook meals for under a fiver. They did an Indian "feast", dhal,…

The "what can I do with this" or "kitchen cupboard bugbear" thread
Hello all I am totally prepared for this idea to sink like a lead brick :) but I wonder if there is a place for a thread where those of us that are being thrifty with our groceries for whatever reason, challenge, or just because, can ask for suggestions of things to do with our unloved ingredients. You know, that dusty…

Can I freeze home made hummus
Hello all As the title says really, can I freeze home made hummus? I soaked and cooked the chickpeas over the weekend, I'm not sure how long they'll last in the fridge as they are. I've got a gifted jar of tahini in the cupboard that, as my 80something gran would say, I am b****y well sick of looking at - so hummus it is!…

Gravy
So I am quite happy to make gorgeous gravy when I have a joint of meat to use but I cannot seem to get any decent tasting gravy without the meat ...so for example if I want to do sausages and onion gravy the best I can get is pretty tasteless Bisto type thing with everything chucked in to try and improve the flavour Anyone…

Jumper
I'm sorry, I don't think this is the right forum to ask this, but I'm sort of struggling with this website as the closest forum to my issue won't take new threads. I have a jumper of mine that was bought from river island. It's made of cotton, but there is a slogan on the front, and the material it is made of (as there is…

Kitchen bins - Expensive!
I've had a basic plastic bin for years but the lid has broke so I've been looking online for a new one. The old one was too big for the kitchen anyway, since I moved house. I'm looking for a round shiny metal type one this time. Brabantia keeps coming up, and they have the sizes I'd prefer, either 20L or 30L, but the…
