This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
Karcher - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light but very cloudy, overcast and looks like it could rain at any moment, forecast is rain all day.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work, DS2 still in his pit.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/potatoes, beans/veg, tonight we'll be having meatballs and spagetti once the hairdresser has left.
Work yesterday didn't start off as busy as we thought but soon became very busy and was as busy as ever, today may well be another busy one with the people who didn't want to wait/couldn't wait to be seen returning. We were all ready to go home by the time we closed, not helped by the fact that the monies didn't match what people had input into the machine - why is it difficult to input into the machine how much you're written your cheque out for??? We had someone with the machines majority of the day yesterday to keep everyone moving, so there's no reason for it to be incorrect - we were ages trying to find where the problem was. Hopefully today we'll be able to keep a handle on it. Myself and a colleague were trying to help find the problem, in the end the Manager told us to go home and she would continue to see what had happened, I'll be interested to see if she found it!
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks KARCHER for starting. I am sitting here in my garden lounger having a quick coffee, before I dash upstairs and get dressed and make myself presentable. No exact time given for our sofa delivery but could be any time between 7 and 5!! We are rather fed up of sitting in garden chairs now and if the sofas don't arrive I shall cry!! Watch this space!
My date with the Jeyes Fluid didn't last long yesterday. It goes nowhere at all. I got the front steps and under the window scrubbed (almost) clean then moved down the side of the garage and it ran out! May just resort to soapy water next and see how that goes. Plus it stinks!
I have the makings of pea and ham soup lined up in the kitchen and will put that on once I am dressed. That will be lunch spoken for, with maybe a wrap or bagel. Tonight it's jacket spuds, with tuna mayo for me and prawns for Mr TA. Plus a bit of salad.
Well better make myself respectable in case we are first delivery!
Have a good day folks and (HUGS) to all in need. I am still churned up inside but coping better than last week, when I could have cried if anyone had been nice to me. Take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good morning and thank you for starting the thread karcher.
Back to broken sleep, but at least I did get some sleep.
Work is pretty busy for me at present, am about to have another very heavy day but it is interesting. I was late back last night and will be late again today. I cook for myself on late days so last night had a cheese omelette and salad, exactly what I wanted.
I was sorry to read that things are so worrying for the TAs, sending love.
Hope that JackieO is having a good time, I know she will be.
I must get moving, eat toast and get to the bus.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning :hello:

Ah TravellingAbuela there you areI was wondering when you'd be back. Reading your post, it's obvious I've missed something (from yesterday? I didn't read/post yesterday) so I'll go back and read in a mo.
The house was very quiet yesterday, Scampi could hear every noise outside and was barking madly at the tiniest thing. So I put the telly on – This Morning. Did anyone see it and if you did, is it always like that? I ended up giving up on what I was doing and watching itI didn't like that bloke they tried to interview who's doing the tattoo program, he actually made me angry and if I could've reached through the screen to give him a good slap, I would have, lol.
Back to normal today, it seems like forever since I could just get on with things without being derailed, lol. I'm so much more productive when I'm by myself.
I've been through everything I've ever bought on my Morrisons account and added them to various lists – cleaning, fridge, toiletries, etc. I even have a 'treats' listI've made another list of things I buy every week, so I can just click 'add all to trolley' and most of the shopping will be done is seconds

My diary pages are filling up nicely, though I'm sorting things so wednesday and saturday afternoons are free. It's almost the end of the tax year so the next couple of weeks will mostly be taken up with tax stuff. By that I mean “I had some work done on my van and can't find the receipt, PLEASE HELP ME!” and I will say “I don't live in your house, or your van for that matter, so find it yourself”
My shoulder is sore but I'm determined to get things done so I've dosed up on brufen and have some voltarol gel at the ready. Typing for more than a few minutes at a time is a problem so I'll check everything is in date order then plod slowly through the piles of paper. I reckon I can do ten at a time so will be taking lots of breaks to do bits of housework. I'll be a bit behind with work but should have a gleaming house by the end of the end of the weekApart from the high up things, I can't reach them, lol.

Morning everyone.
Thin watery blue skies outside.
I'm off this morning taking an outpatient down to Glasgow Royal Infirmary so it could be a long day. Mind you, the woman rang last night to say she wasn't too well so she may cancel. We'll see.
TA - fingers are crossed for the new furniture.
Right, off to shower and get off. Happy Tuesday everyone.0 -
Morning all
The fish have been fed, Captain Hot Stuff has a cuppa and I feel like a wet dishrag.
Last night contained 2 long periods of wakefulness, 2 coughing fits, 1 squelchy ear that popped every time I turned over and a painful jaw from sleeping with my teeth clenched. Cross me at your peril today as I am a crabbit old besome!
I did manage to find a home for 2 mirrors yesterday, I also went to war on behalf of my DGS who can be a PITA, but he's my PITA and he was being picked on by a non-teaching staff member, I will not be popular but I don't give a flying. I reported the treatment of DGS and another 2 students and alternative arrangements have been made.
Wasted journey to the Dr's yesterday to collect a repeat prescription that wasn't ready so I have to go back today, then to the chemist, then collect DGD's and take them to dance, then get the car washed, more decluttering and then collect Captain Hot Stuff.
Have a good day everyone.

I haven't motivated myself yet. Hester do watch the teeth clenching, I have a mouthguard to wear at night from years of grinding my teeth in my sleep, the bottom ones are rather worn now. Such a good look at night, soo appealling.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Morning all,
Very chilly here this morning heating has been flicked on for a while again, the mornings and evenings are really cold atm but the days lovely.
Dinner tonight is fish new potatoes and peas or hot dog in a bun with sweetcorn, will decide when I get in tonight.
Still not done an online shop so much get round to that tonight, I also need to put a wash on.
Roger the garden man did not turn up, he has done that a few times lately, I may have to get a new Roger as this one is very unreliable :rotfl: he does it for a hobby as he doesn't need the money so is not bothered if he earns the money or not so will often not turn up but that's no good for us really the lawn is desperate for a cut, will have to get OH out there to do it.
TA thinking of you both, and I hope the new sofas arrive today !
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning (((((((((( hugs )))))))))) if you need one.
Awake early, tried turning over and going back to sleep....no go...OHbis still snoring. I wish I could sleep like him!!
Visit to see latest GGC this afternoon. It's DD2's 36th wedding anniversary today. I also need a quick side trip to Wilko's for a couple of things whilst we are in the area.
No idea what the weather is like, curtains still shut. I got all the laundry dry on the line yesterday, brilliant.
Sausage and mash tonight with the beans left from last night.0 -
TA is it moss that you are trying to get rid of? We found that a metal-bristled deck brush works best on our yard. It took some work to clear, but now DH brushes it every few days in the summer to deter anything from starting to grow again.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
