Hester, I'm a teeth clencher too, when I'm anxious, which with the world situation being what it is has been quite frequently recently. It gives me a headache and sometimes toothache.

I'm dying for a cuppa but I have a fasting blood test this morning so it will be another couple of hours till I caan have one.

DD is home today, we'll probably speak when she is on the train. We haven't spoken since Thursday which is ages for us because we tend to talk to each other every day.

DS had the results of the blood tests he had after the dentist found the lump in his neck. All is fine thankfully, just one of those things.

The first day of the blood sugar diet went well, so onwards and upwards, at least it's now salad weather.

Roger the garden man did not turn up, he has done that a few times lately, I may have to get a new Roger as this one is very unreliable :rotfl: he does it for a hobby as he doesn't need the money so is not bothered if he earns the money or not so will often not turn up but that's no good for us really the lawn is desperate for a cut, will have to get OH out there to do it.
I want a Roger but preferably one that turns up. The trees are getting a bit much for hubby but he won't admit it.

Doesn't look very nice out there today but I'm hoping it will brighten up.

Need to chase a repeat prescription today, a trip to the post office and the hounds need a bit of a trim....nothing major but just enough so that I can check their nails as they grow like weeds.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's a dry and bright morning here. The girls are all fast asleep and hubby has left for work. He was very happy when he came home yesterday as the big boss had pulled him into a meeting and told him he was going to get a lot of training to get qualifications in his new role. Hubby is over the moon as to him it shows they have faith in his abilities. Also, if he goes for another job, the qualifications will really help.

DD14 met her lovely nurse yesterday at our house. It went well and she is going to be the go between the psychiatrist and DD14 and she is also going to set up a meeting with DD14's school. She wants me to attend so I will gird my loins to face them.

I am planning to take DD15 out to lunch today at our local 'spoons as I want to talk to her about her behaviour with DD14. I know a lot of it is jealousy of the attention she is getting at the moment and it's not going to get any easier once DD17's Camhs appointments start. I thought spending some one to one time with her will help a bit plus she is a lovely girl at heart and I enjoy spending time with her. She is working for a couple of hours nearly every day waitressing at the pub which she is a bit fed up of but the money will be nice for her. The rest of the time she is supposed to be revising so she doesn't have much spare time. I thought it was difficult juggling the kids needs when they were little but it is so much more complicated now .

Tea today will be the beef, I will chuck it into a slow cooker for the day and then put a potato topping on it. I bought lots of lovely veg to have with it too so it should be a nice healthy meal. We tidied through yesterday so nothing really needs doing today.

csarina, have a lovely time with your new great grandchild x
redruby, I too would love someone to come and cut our grass for us but we have the same problem in that people just don't turn up when they say they will, it's very frustrating and meanwhile the lawn looks like a field of waving wheat!
Hester, I hope you have a peaceful day x
TA, fingers crossed that your sofas arrive early x

Well, I am going to go and get dressed ready for the day. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Had a successful day with Aunt yesterday, went to the Royal Yacht. Very interesting but she makes everything into such a long day! It's nice to look at photos, etc, but she reads every little label. Anyway, she thoroughly enjoyed the day which is what matters.

We're off to Bute today, she hates ferries but we can't swim there. We'll take a picnic lunch and hopefully the weather will be kind.

Not much else to report, hope you are all well and have a super Tuesday. Take care. XX

    Morning chums,

Nice and bright here this morning.

Yesterday was a busy day at work followed by our first Spanish lesson. The tutor was a 17 year old girl who took a 30 minute train and a 15 minute walk to get to us. Kudos to her for the effort. Her Spanish is great but her learning techniques aren't as sharp.

Once she left we all agreed that although she wasn't what we expected, her fluency and understanding of the language is enough for what we're trying to achieve.

Badminton tonight. Chicken and bacon salad for dinner. Maybe 1 episode of House of Cards.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

DH and I went in 2003 - we found it quite amusing that HM has "emergency chairs" in each bit of passage between the rooms, presumably for the state dinners onboard!

Just as long as my Roger is better at it than yours ;)

Sisters eh? I must admit my two daughters hit that stage too, still am rivals now if i'm honest but at least they can now see the good in each other. They will never be the best of friends but then, Youngest daughter doesn't get on with anyone. She is affectionately known in the family as 'Terrier'. She is called that for a reason.

Afternoon - my outpatient did call off, she looked awful to be fair and as I had to go to Helensburgh anyway the early start was good. I had to collect an order at Waitrose. JL phoned the other day to remind me the order was there but I hadn't received a text or email, seems it was scanned in badly. Anway, lovely if slow drive down so I cut off at Arrochar again to get out from behind a convoy of three lorries and a coach.

This particular shop has a tremendous view out over the Firth of Clyde, really beautiful. I came straight back home to find my two new garden chairs have arrived so the car is loaded again with cardboard!

The sun is pouring in though the high winds are cold.

I'm off to unpack and set up the new DVD, perhaps I may even watch Fantastic Beasts which I got the other week. Saw it in the cinema and loved it.

    Happy days!
  • Afternoon all. Well my sofas were delivered and assembled around 10.00 and Mr TA hasn't stopped playing with the recliners on them since! They are not as squishy, soft and comfy as my old sofas but, being leather, should be damned easier to keep clean. I got sick to death of struggling with the covers on the old ones to wash them, and then struggle to put them back on again. DS has been told to get throws for them as I am not washing them for him!

The caravan repairman rang just as the sofa deliverymen arrived and we have arranged to meet him over at the site on Friday morning. It's well overdue for a service and one or two bits need sorting. More expense! Then DD and the DGDs are going over Monday for just under two weeks over Easter. We'll see what else they can break!

The post brought Mr TA's appointment with the Neurologist on the 26th so we have a bit of breathing space before that.

FLOSS yes it is moss I am attacking. I got a new stiff broom when I got the Jeyes and that is quite good at getting rid of it. We have a power washer in the garage but it's such a slow job with it I would rather give it a bit of elbow grease instead!

DUMPLING it must be so hard for you trying share your time on your girls as they are all so close in age with differing needs and attention. I had a boy and a girl and they got on quite well together fortunately. (Unlike me and my DB when we were kids - we fought and squabbled non-stop and had my DM at her wit's end!)

Have a nice afternoon all xx
