Mexican Cornbread without Polenta/cornmeal
I am making cornbread for dinner this evening and I can't get any polenta anywhere. I can only find the ready made stodge in the local supermarkets. Can I substitite this for something else? I have 3 recipes and I have searched the net but it seems to be a critical ingredient. Can't believe that none stock it.

Storage furniture - what works for you?
I'm not sure this really belongs on this board but it's not about DIY, and I think that the flylady people might have some helpful ideas for me. We are moving (hopefully) in a month or two, and the house we're moving to doesn't have any fitted wardrobes and doesn't even have an airing cupboard. So I need to purchase…

Cutout (shape) biscuits recipe needed please
Kiddies want to bake some biscuits this afternoon. Can anyone recommend any good easy recipes for biscuits - the type they can cut out with cookie shape cookers. If there are any eggless recipes that'd be great (DD allergic raw egg) but not necessary (only means she misses licking bowl) .

Tea pot Question!
Lately OH and I have been drinking more tea and less coffee, and I have noticed that 2 tea bags will happily make 3 mugs of tea, (but I don't think 1 bag is really good enough for 2 mugs), anyway, so I was thinking maybe a teapot would be a good idea, but I have no idea how & where to find one that is cheap and will pour…

Mouse in the pantry! Can I still use food stored in there?
I definitely have a mouse in the pantry! It's nibbled some fairy cakes. I also have wheat grain in the pantry in a large 25kg sack. I have a grain mill and usually grind the grain to make bread. Should I *gulp* throw it out? There's about 10kg in there. There aren't any signs of rodent visits though. What would you…

I am now trying to work out how to get the best value out of everything - this is the first time I've bought meat in bulk like this. I have been given a bag…
