yoghurt making- a few questions

Options
hi all,

I have been given a yoghurt maker and wanted to have a bash at making some.

my question is, how long will homemade yoghurt keep in the fridge for?
also, can i freeze my starter yoghurt in ice cube trays for the next time too? will this work or will the live cultures have been killed by freezing it?

thanks,
hayley

    Hi,

You can keep yoghurt for 4-5 days in fridge and can use about couple of teaspoon from that yoghurt with milk for the next batch, The best idea is to boil and cool down (to around 38 degree C=body temperature) and to mix with couple of teaspoon yoghurt for the next batch.
