Room temp. mousse?
We're having a buffet at work and I was going to make some white chocolate mousse to go in dark chocolate cups (with crushed ginger nut biscuit crumbs on top so it looks like a little cappuccino (and maybe a raspberry hidden in the bottom - I'm open to suggestions!)). Thing is, as this is a buffet it will be sitting on the…

Tart baby food
Hi, need some help rescuing a puree. Want to start introducing meat to baby's diet, so asked hubby to make his bolognese without the baddies such as sugar or salt. Unfortunately it has come out rather acidic, even after it was pureed with the pasta. Baby not happy, so I promised them I'd find a solution by asking on here.…

Frozen flour - still ok to use??
After reading the tips on here about putting bags of flour into the freezer for 24 hours to kill any beasties, I thought I'd give it a try. Trouble is it's been left in there for about 3 days! I totally forgot about it! Will this still be okay to use? Thanks Anna x

I could face the music but was warned about paying for any damages... Was thinking of trying to lightly sand it and…

Green tea wholesale?
Hiya, As anyone who read my thread last week will know, I'm looking for ways to cut my grocery budget. Help with math/figuring prices, please....
I do take a calculator to the store with me. And, I'm about to make a notebook where I keep track of good prices. Like, what is the standard price of cheese per kilo, what's the cheapest I've seen, and then I can do the math to see if the deal at the store is really such a deal that I ought to stock up. Does that make…

A use for 1 x batch of rice noodles in a vegan meal for 2??
Hello everyone. Fancy a challenge!?? :D I am going to be planning the coming week's menu in the next 24 hours, and I've just looked in the cupboard to see what we have. I have found a packet of rice noodles from a couple of weeks ago - you know the ones where you get 4 bundles within a pack - and only one 'bundle' is left.…

Will this flour be ok?
I bought a 1.5kg bag of Hovis Wholemeal Bread flour today for 39p as the use by date is May 2008. Do you think I should freeze it first before I use it in case there are any beasties in it? At this price would it be worth buying more and freezing it? I pay 89p for Tesco brown bread flour so of course this is a bargain if…
