Just wondered if anyone has a recipe for honey and mustard sauce like the knorr one you can buy in a jar. I t can't be that hard to make from scratch but i am not sure of a recipe i can use. If you could share your recipe with me i would be very grateful. Thanks

  • I too, love the H & M sauce from Knorr
never thought about making it myself, but found this (although IOIWE is much easier)

    Ingredients:
    6 tablespoons clear honey
3 tablespoons English or French mustard
    1/2 teaspoon horseradish sauce
    1 tablespoon cornflour
    3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
    2 tablespoons lemon juice
Put all the ingredients in a heavy-based saucepan and cook over a gentle heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture clears and thickens slightly.
Serve with hamburgers, steaks and chops.

OMG - my DH and I had a conversation at tea time about making a honey and mustard sauce so I thought I'd see if anyone on MSE had a recipe! Spooky!

  • I really fancy chicken in a honey and mustard sauce tonight but haven't bought any of those jars of sauce for years. I've done a google search and none of the recipes are creamy. I'd like to cook it in my slow cooker (because I'm using thighs) but if I have to cook it on the stove top that's fine. Does anyone make their own honey and mustard sauce, like the Chicken Tonight one?

Thanks Zippy , one of them looks like it might work. I managed to put something together by thinking like a chef (faced with a new challenge I sometimes forget I cooked for a living) which tasted pretty much like the Chicken tonight stuff but when it finished cooking in the slow cooker it had changed radically :o Maybe not everything is suitable for slow cooking.

  • I just put some honey and mustard into a bowl and spread on the chicken but you could make a basic white sauce and add the honey and mustard to that
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
