I am looking for a recipre for a soda type bread that incorporates beer, preferably guiness. I have found some recipes on the Internet which basically suggest mixing self raising flour with the beer and sugar, but the thing is these all seem to incorporate quite a lot of sugar - 3 tablespoons!, - won't that taste sweet? Last year, when I made the mince pies I'm sure I used a recipe from some one very nice on these boards who gave icing sugar and butter amongst the pastry ingredients. The conundrum of stuffing
Why is it we seem to only have stuffing with a roast bird - OK, I know it's probably because they have a cavity which can be filled but stuffing can be cooked 'on the side' as it were. Why do you never see menus that give a stuffing 'on the side' that goes with lamb or beef? Anyone got any suggestions?
