URGENT!! Icing a wedding cake
I've "volunteered" to decorate a wedding cake at short notice for a wedding next Saturday!! It's years since I've done this but I'm sure it's like riding a bike. The bride has supplied me with 6", 8" & 10" ready iced luxury celebration cakes from Asda so I've got a flat canvas to start. I've got some cutters so would like…

Bread bread bread
Damn damn damn. I used to buy a brand of wholemeal flour that had a bread recipe on the back of the packet (a long time ago). This recipe was super-easy and made fantastic bread. No sugar, no knocking-back, no second rising - just an unbelievably simple list of ingredients (flour, salt, uh, water, maybe a little milk),…

Omg!! Price of peaches
Not even sure if this is where to put this but has anyone else seen the price of peaches in Tesco? sentimental clutter - what to do with?
I urgently need to declutter as 8 month old son still sleeping in our room as his room full of boxes of 'stuff'. Trouble is (aside from filing 7 years worth of stuff, boxes and boxes of 'to ebay' stuff etc, there is loads and loads of sentimentally charged stuff don't know how to sort out/dispose of. For example children's…

Just acquired a breadmaker... how to use?
I've just acquired a breadmaker (Hinari Homebaker HB100) through Freecycle but i haven't the foggiest where to start. Before I get shot down, and people post links to the Breadmaker complete collection, I have been there and I still haven't found the answer. I want to know in essence, where to start with the machine…

MSE versus Declutter
I would love to know how everyone manages to do both these things. I find my house filling up with spare stuff 'so I can save money'. I have my mum's old kettle sitting in the kitchen 'cos it still works and mine might die one day' - ditto toaster. I have stacks of towels that I was given, and for the same reasons I won't…

How not to destoy my fireplace
I've just bought a new fireplace. Portland stone with a cast iron and polished nickel arch inset and a granite hearth. Can anyone tell me the best way to maintain each component, specifically the insert. We were told to use a little baby oil on it but I'm skeptical so if anyone has any tips I'd be grateful.
