i have read in the tightwad book.... that peeps re-use their tin foil.....
now this might sound like a bit of a silly question.. but how can you re-use it
by the time the tin foil comes home from school with the kids....(as i wrap their sarnies in it...)...its soo crinkley that it breaks.....
plus when i use it for covering the meat in the oven while cooking..... plus use the same piece to cover the meat in the fridge....it creases.... and it looks as though it cant be used again.....
so how do you...keep your foil so it can be re-used.....
i am now re-using sandwich bags etc.....so slowly getting os.....

I think I read somewhere that if you scrunch it up its great for cleaning saucepans which have got burnt on food in them but obviously not on non-stick ones!;)Do what you love :happyhear0

I wonder if the Tightwad lady is using a thicker grade and can manage to wash it? I seem to remember my mother doing that, but as you say these days once you use it is is so fragile. I hardly ever use foil simply because it is so wasteful. Packed lunches go in plastic boxes, and we use a covered roaster.0

The trick is in how you de-crinklifie it! I learned how to do it when I ran out one day. The method that works for me is not to pull it flat but to push it flat again. Gently get it flat-ish then work from the centre outwards, pushing and flattening as you go, with a modicum of care I can get 4 days sarnies out of one piece - but not if has been really scrunched up into a ikkle ball or I cannot find the edges.
HTHThe quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0
