Pasta Bake - what to do with leftovers?
Whenever I make pasta bake, I always have at least another portion leftover which up until now has ended up in the bin. Would it be ok to eat it cold the next day for lunch? Or is it ok to freeze? If I do freeze, how would I reheat it? Many thanks xx

Mould on Shirt !!!
 My DH and I went to a ball, where he wore a white shirt with his tux. The problem is he sweated a lot (dancing, hot night etc) and when we got home at, oh, 4.00am he just chucked his shirt in the wash bin, where it sat for a couple of days :o Now the problem is, it has been washed, but it has tiny black mould spots…

Poorly hen help please
Hi everyone I've noticed today that one of my hens has been sat in the coop all day looking sad. I've had a look at her and cant see that she is eggbound, however her throat and all the way down look red and it seems some of her feathers are missing. Does anyone have any idea what could be the matter? Also, one of the hens…

Blue cheese dressing recipe?
We are doing a barbeque for 40+ people at the weekend and don't really want to toss the salad, but would really like to make and serve different flavoured dressings in particular the creamy blue cheese one that is often available at salad bars in restaurants. I don't think it would be just mayonaise and blue cheese because…

Saving time by making the kids do some of the work
Our kids (3) have now flown the nest (thank goodness) but I am still amazed at how much most of them get away with in their own homes. Mothers (mostly) run around them, sorting our their homework as well as their clothes and rooms. I was probably tough with my three but this is what they had to do:- Clean their own rooms;…

Slow cooker tips
Thanks to you lot I bought a slow cooker and have got some lovely results with it but I have a question, can you re-heat cooked meat in it? I usually cook a joint at the weekend and save the rest for a mid-week meal but I would love to prepare it earlier in the day as I'm usually knackered after running around after the…

Saving money in a true OS style...
We had planned to do a big online shop to cover our month's groceries to be delivered tomorrow morning, but upon sitting down to do four weeks' worth of meal planning, I realised this was going to be a LOT of work - for some reason meal planners always take me aaaages! I debated with boyfy whether to still utilise the slot…

My wonderfull hubby was filling up the printer cartridge and spilt some of the ink on his NEW blue cotton shirt. Is it me or is it hot in here?
Not sure if this is the right place to ask question but no doubt you will tell me if not. Iv'e started with hot flushes, had them for a few months now. The last few days and nights have been horrid which is also due to the muggy weather. Iv'e been getting them quite a lot but occasionally go for a few days with none. My…

Tea Tree and nits!!!
Hi, My little girl is starting "big school" in September and I live in terror of her bringing home some "unwelcome" visitors. I hear that tea tree is a good deterent. Some people say that you can get tea tree shampoo but i haven't seen any for kids with no tears formula. I also know that some people just add the oil to…

Money for old rope
My local scout hall has a lot of very old climbing ropes (natural fibres) of the sort we couldn't possibly use for its intended purpose (plus of course all the places we're likely to go climbing actually have the stuff already). We're thinking of ebaying them off - but will anybody actually bid on them and for what…

Uneaten Christmas cake
My mother-in-law makes us a huge Christmas cake each year. Unfortunately, I really dislike Christmas cake, any fruit cake in fact, but haven't the heart to tell her. DH likes it but not enough to eat it. Usually we manage to give it away but it didn't happen last year. Any ideas what I can do with it before the next one…

I need help with my declutter task
How do I de-clutter? I've just found 3 very large underbed storage bags, full of clothes. I really had forgotten I had them! Last time i saw them was when I decorated my bedroom 3yrs ago. The sizes range from 10 to 16 (hence them hiding away). I am at the moment, due to a recently diagnosed thyroid problem, size 18, making…

Jacket Potato question
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I was thinking of taking in a cooked baked potato into work for lunch. If I cooked it in the morning (ie. out the oven at 8am), wrapped in foil and taken to work to be eaten at 12.30pm (without any refridgeration or reheating by microwave), would it still be ok to eat? Or would it be…
