Help needed getting cream cleaner stain out of clothing
I found this hilarious at the time - my husband went up into the loft to get the Christmas deccies out and decided whilst he was up there that he would clean off the loft hatch which was looking less than sparkly white. He is not a believer in the old-fashioned products so we have a mix of cleaning products under our sink…

Does anyone read "Old style Books" for fun?
I love reading old cook books and various versions of Mrs Beeton style books just for the fun of it, for me it has to be Escoffier and Ma Cuisine, but older stuff from the likes of Careme et al are even more interesting. Apart from buying the "grate a pound of truffles " bit I try to experiment and try some of the ancient…

I just got my reduced price compost bin from the council but have realised it has no bottom on it. Keeping an internal ensuite fresh
Internal en suite shower rooms often develop a musty smell after a while, in spite of running the fan, keeping the door open and being particular about cleanliness. I solved the problem when this smell developed after 6 months in this new build house. I bought a powerful steam cleaner from aldi for about £50. 1000 watts…

"Would you like the hanger with that, madam?"
Ladies (usually), If you're buying clothes which come on one of those hangers that has the two spring loaded clips on and you're offered the hanger - take it. When you get home, break the hanger in two, slide off the clips, throw away the hanger and you're left with a couple of decent sized food/freezer bag clips. Enrico

When to clean what??
:xmassign: Sorry if this is a daft question, but I just wondered when everybody cleaned which rooms in their house, i.e. how often do you clean the bathroom, change the bed etc. I've lived away from home for years, but have never quite got into a cleaning routine, and always seem to be behind with things. Instant coffee..opened jar...keep how long??
Eeeek! Just found a large jar of an expensive-type of instant coffee at the back of a cupboard. Has been opened and just a little used. What's left has solidified into a lump and shrunk away from the sides and the top has gone whitish...looks very yukky! Best before date was Oct 05. Would it still be OK to use??
