Eeeek! Just found a large jar of an expensive-type of instant coffee at the back of a cupboard. Has been opened and just a little used. What's left has solidified into a lump and shrunk away from the sides and the top has gone whitish...looks very yukky! Best before date was Oct 05. Would it still be OK to use??

It might not poison you (though the whitish bit sounds like a mould) but it sure as heck would taste pretty foul.
I can only recommend the bin.
