Urgent! New carpet - stain on!

We had a new lounge carpet laid on Monday. Woke up this morning to find three huge stains on it
. There isn't any smell and we can only think our dog was "liquid" sick............
but don't know. She's not usually and it isn't anything else she's done either!
I've blotted the marks with kitchen towel and make a mild solution of 1 pint warm water with fairy liquid in and 2 tablespoons of white vinegar and blotted them. It has removed a little of the mark but I don't want to carry on as I'm scared I'll make it worse.
Is anyone else up and awake that could give me any further advice please? I can't call Chem-Dry the carpet cleaners until 9am and in the meantime don't know what else to do...................... . Oh this is not going to be a good day
:(

All I can think of is that if you are going to call in the professionals, maybe keep the stain damp so that it doesn't set?0

Thanks Ticklemouse:). I have just managed to get hold of the professionals and they said the same as you, keep it damp. There's me trying to dab it dry! So the three marks are covered up with bubble wrap/polythene/tea towel on top! They can't come in until this afternoon but have warned me if it is from our dog then the damage will already have been done:(. Also if you have accidental damage on household insurance it doesn't cover pets. As we have no idea what it is - although can only summise it must be her - then if need be I'll contact the insurance co and say, quite honestly, we don't know what it is. Fingers crossed though it will come out................pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Well, if you really don't know what it is, then it really could be anything ie your evening cocoa, a glass of something stronger? However, a decent professional should be able to do wonders, but they will be honest about permanent stains.
It reminds me of the time in our last house when we had new carpets fitted in the bedrooms. We'd lived without carpets for a year and had saved up and got a good deal. Fitted, lovely, pale blue, warm and comfy etc etc. The next day I went into the wardrobe in the little bedroom to sort some stuff out. I found a plastic bottle of black shoe polish stuff......went to pull the lid off to see if it was old or new ........... and the lid pulled the inner lid off
BLACK, LIQUID SHOE POLISH ALL OVER MY NEW CARPETS, curtains, new wallpaper.
I was so shocked I stood and stared at it for about 30 seconds, because it didn't register. I got most of it off, but there were always grey stains on the carpet and wallpaper. I just stood a piece of furniture over the worst.
Lesson of the day - NEVER open a shoe polish tin/bottle anywhere other than over a sink or outside !!0 -
THREAD NOW CLOSED ...............................STAINS OUT!!!!!!! Yay yay yay for Servicemaster:). He's been, looked, dabbed with some sort of removal spray, said "Think it's bad news", tried the extractor machine and BINGO.........................all out
:). Who's a lucky girl then? :xmassmile :xmastree:
OMG! Ticklemouse - now black shoe polish would have been horrendous!!!!!!!:(:(0
