Making your own 'cook-in' sauces
I usually buy jars of well known casserole sauces from the shop and wondered if it would be moneysaving to make my own or too much hassle in terms of how long it takes and the results. A few of the usual ones I buy are - tikka sauce sweet 'n sour chasseur or coq au vin strogonof Are these easy to make as I would use them…

coal marks on the carpet
Have checked out the useful stain sites but can't find a tip for coal marks that my cat has made (climbing up the chimney). I have 4 black coal paw prints on my cream cheap carpet. Have tried 'Vanish' mousse but this didn't work. As the carpet is cheap I don't mind washing the marks but what temperature water should I use?

Aaarrrggghhh! small shops!
Lately,I have been trying to use small local shops as much as possible as I believe that in the long run it's better for us if they don't disappear altogether and leave us with just supermarkets. Kenwood Chef Bargain
I thought I'd post this here, rather than Grabbit, because I know some of you would be interested. In TK Maxx today (Denton, Crown Point) they had 2 Kenwood Chefs, a normal one, and a retro styled one. Best thing about them is the price... £100  In most shops they're at least £200.
