Frozen in error-safe to eat????

Options
I bought 2 Tesco Tear n Share Cheese Breads on a BOGOF just before Christmas. Used one and threw the other in the freezer.

Just taken it out of the freezer and on the back it says 'Not Suitable for Freezing'........whoops........it also says 'this product was previously frozen and restored to abient temperature'...........double whoops.......

Will we survive if i defrost and bake? Or throw and put it down to experience?? I can't see what would be dangerous tohave been frozen twice looking at the ingredients, but I'm not 100% sure what I should be looking for!

Were it meat I would chuck it but for bread I would probably risk it but don't sue me should my advice give you the jip. I've accidentally frozen/defrosted/re-frozen bread and providing I havn't taken it out of the packet I've used it and have lived to tell the tail. HTH

  • I agree with MATH,I've also frozen and refrozen bread with no ill affects,I often do it with homemade bread.

    Oh Karen
Throw it away and chalk it up to experience. You must NEVER freeze anything that has been previously frozen.
    Sorry!
  • I have to say, we had some re-frozen/re-defrosted bread yesterday with lunch - it was half a Tesco mixed seed and raisin bread and we are still here, i'd fogotten about that until a few minutes ago........I think I'll give it a go...i'll let you know tomorrow !!!!

  • Bread on its own is fine to thaw and refreeze, the cheese I wouldn't be so sure of. The birds may well apprecate with the snow about though!
  • yes, I'll do that - I'll pull off the cheese and put it out for the birds :-)

  • Birds like cheese too!
  • Personally I would risk it if is baked hot but then my stomach is quite strong!

Birds will love the cheese and this will be OK but please a reminder to everyone NEVER put out mouldy food, especially bread for birds. The mould can infect their bones and kill them quickly. Thank you
