PCP - Upgrade or not?
Hi, I have a car on a 4 year PCP deal that I currently pay about £320 a month and I am currently 1 year into a 4 year PCP deal. I've always purchased my cars this way and is how I like to do it. However, I've done a check and as a result of the second hand car market I currently have around £2500 equity in my deal already,…

Pot Hole Damage
Hello, I hit a pot hole a few weeks back. It completely shattered my wheel, snapped the cv axle and tore through my gear box. The car had to be picked up on a flatbed and was subsequently written off. I have been paid out from my insurer, however it was an old car so I didn’t get much. I’m now without a car and completely…

Renewing driving license using passport
Is there a maximum age for a passport to allow you to renew your driving license online? The government website suggests that as long as you have a valid passport then you can renew online. My passport is valid but isn't that much younger than my driving license so not sure if this would be a problem.

Used Car leasing
I am thinking of leasing a car and have looked at the suggested sites in the article here. They all seem to deal with brand new car leasing. Given for the first year we are mainly paying for the loss in value of around 40% of the new car I was thinking it would make more sense to lease an older vehicle of at least 1-2…

Car Leasing - Still waiting for car 6 months on???
We ordered a car in September with Leap Vehicle Leasing and at the time was promised a delivery date of 14th November. Our old car gave up and we explained that we'd be without a car and had gone with Leap as they had the shortest timescale. We were not told at the time of a 'chip' problem at the manufacturers and was told…

22 Number Plates
I am buying a new car from a dealership who was pushing the 71 plates on me, but as I am getting no discount I said I would wait until 1st March for the new 22 plates. I am travelling 6 hours by train to collect the vehicle as I have moved from when I originally ordered the car. Does anyone know if they can get the new…

BMW wanted to charge me £44 for a rear windscreen wiper but were surprisingly competitive on tyres.
BMW Series 1 seven years old. I used a BMW Dealer and Service Shop for the first five years as I bought a five year service plan when I bought the car from BMW at 3 months old and only 220 miles. It is a 34 mile round trip to the nearest BMW Dealership so since then I have used a local and trusted independent 3 miles from…

Pay by mile to replace fuel duty?
https://www.driving.co.uk/news/roads/urgent-pay-per-mile-road-pricing-government/ Some MP's are calling for this due to the increase in Electric vehicles. Depending on how many miles you do would you be happy for this, assuming they lower the petrol price by the 60p(approx) duty. I pay approximately £62.00 in duty for my…

Cancelling car lease due to car fault
I am eleven months into a 3 year lease of a Seat Leon FR. I have had problems with the car from the start. Mostly software issues, which have usually been resolved after taking the car to the local dealer, however the local dealer is not overly helpful, due to the fact that I didn’t get the car from them. I am not entitled…

I've been on the look out for a replacement for my current car (Yes I know it is probably not the best time to buy at the moment but putting that aside). Dvla mileage record
Hi i wanted to ask what can be done to rectify a mot history. The general mileage done a year is around 5-10k which is reasonable but in one year it suddenly did nearly 45k! Then buying it (from an auction) it has mileage as if it appears that sudden mileage for the one year is a mistake. Is it true mot record freeze or…

Mileage Discrepancy? Believe to be wrong.
Bought a however noticed its got a mileage discrepancy on it. Now im fairly positive this is incorrect as all service and MOT certificates line up and the discrepancy doesn't make any sense Bought the car in june 2021 and the discrepancy is for January of 2021.
