How long will a dead battery hold it's charge (after charging)?
Hi all. Once you've got a dead battery going, and if you drive for about 20 mins (or if the car sits in idle for a similar time), would it last a couple of days before it goes again? Thanks.

New car- cash or finance?
I'm fortunate to be able to buy a new car with cash. However I have noticed that some dealers are offering a dealer discount if you take out finance and overall works out cheaper. Is it possible or a good idea to deliberately take out the finance and then pay it off within the 14 days cancellation period? Had anyone done…

RAC Approved dealer - is the 82 point check free when buying a used car from an RAC approved dealer?
Hi I have just bought a new used car, they are advertised as an RAC approved dealer and say they will give the car and 82 point check and inspection. my sons driving licence renewal was sent in a couple of days before lockdown (Class 2). As he had previously had to give up his licence for medical reasons, the DVLA had to contact his dr to assess his ability to drive, this was returned to DVLA in July this year saying he was fit to drive now. However he has still not had…

MOT histories
I look after and service my own cars so have an almost perfect MOT history year after year. I wondered if it was possible to spot used cars looked after as well as mine. Basically no. After looking through hundreds of histories you just see a pattern of woeful neglect. Cars failing on tyres, bulbs, washer fluid. All weekly…

GAP Insurance for Imported/Older Vehicles
I'll be collecting a JDM car from an importer in a couple of weeks, which is 13 years old. I was looking for GAP insurance because a substantial proportion of the car's price is in the importing costs which will not be recuperated once I take ownership. I don't plan to ever sell but have limited control over writing the…

DVLA - Which date do I use for change of ownership
I am selling my car on to my daughter. Want to choose a date that saves duplicating vehicle tax liability for the month. I can't find anything on the gov.uk website, but I assume that if I put change of ownership date as 31st December she will be able to tax from 1st January. Anybody able to confirm that? Thanks.
