DVLA - Which date do I use for change of ownership

I am selling my car on to my daughter. Want to choose a date that saves duplicating vehicle tax liability for the month. I can't find anything on the gov.uk website, but I assume that if I put change of ownership date as 31st December she will be able to tax from 1st January. Anybody able to confirm that? Thanks.

That is right. Just make sure she taxes the car before it is used on 1st and ideally park it off the road.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Thanks. Sadly inner city dweller so she can't get it off road but I will nag her at Xmas to make sure she does that.0

She does not have to wait until the 1st to buy tax "starting in January" - she can buy it online with the new keeper slip in the last couple of days of December.
How much is the annual tax for the car?0
