Following on from my previous post , I will be taking delivery of a new Toyota Rav4 with grey leather seats within the next few weeks. I have been offered Paintseal ( Teflon £349 or Gen-3 Glasscoat £449 ) which can be done on the day of delivery. Is this worth it ?- I am especially keen to save the colour of the light grey…

Recommend me a used car, please!
My ancient Scenic is about to be retired (electric handbrake has broken) and I wondered what people would recommend as my next used car? I’ve got up to £1200 to spend. I’m very interested in the £20 or £30 per year tax cars, but can’t seem to find a list. Must be manual, petrol, small (2 leaner drivers named on my…

Evans Halshaw - Admin Fee
I went to view a car yesterday at a local Evans Halshaw upon going over the details of a vehicle I was interested in, I was advised of a compulsory £99 admin fee apparently everyone charges these !!!!! I can't find anything online about this, quite the opposite in fact I did say I wasn't interested in any sort of warranty…

Insurance claim court proceedings
Hi all, I had an accident a few months ago which was my fault. Whilst reversing out of my parking space, I bumped into a vehicle which was parked behind me (driver was inside). I accepted liability for the accident as it was my fault and I assumed that the claim against my insurer would be sorted out pretty quickly.…

Replacement head unit?
Just wondering how simple it is to replace a head unit. My current one has a duff / dim LCD and is only a Bluetooth/CD/Analogue radio one. Saw a few nice ones online with DAB, Satnav etc my only concern is the wiring loom and binding my steering controls to it (change source, answer phone etc) Any guidance please?

Arnold Clark - MOT
I’ve just bought my 3rd car with AC on August 4th 2020. The last two times the experience has been brilliant and I’ve never had any issues with either vehicle. Given the new rules with COVID-19 I wasn’t offered a test drive at the garage, this wasn’t a problem as I’ve test driven this make of car before and enjoyed it. It…

Insurance issue
My current car needs replaced-so buying one today. The current car policy expires 16th September. Can I run my new car on my current policy- scrap my old one and take out new insurance for new? I assume my new claims bonus added at the 16th of September can't be claimed until that policy ends? As such then I would need to…

Online New Car Buying - ? Pre-Registered Car Con
I am not sure if I am being conned and would appreciate some advice. I put a £1000 deposit on a New Toyota Rav4 in early July with UK Car Discount - an Altrincham based online car broker with pretty good reviews on Trust Pilot ( 4.9 ) . I was told delivery will take 4-6 months. I was contacted 3 weeks later to say that…

Dipstick coming out
This may be a stupid question but in 20 years of driving it's not something I've come across. I have a ford C-Max 66 plate, 1.5 Tdci with 21k miles on the clock. Went to check the oil yesterday and the dip stick was loose, engine bay a right mess (it had been 1 week since last checking the oil) I assumed that I hadn't put…

How can I dispute write-off valuation?
Hi 2 months ago I bought a Honda Civic Type R, for £2,200. I wrote it off last week and have today got the insurance valuation of £1,100 This figure is complete rubbish. I have been arguing with Admiral and they have offered an extra £200 as an incentive to make an agreement. I believe the car should be worth at least…

I have 2006 MINI cooper, owned it for 4 and 1/2 years, bought it outright for just over £3,000. Unfortunately, in recent weeks its developed electric faults, most likely caused by a faulty body…

Is it possible to disable auto lock (MK3 Mondeo)?
While i have only the one key, is it possible to disable the auto lock feature on this car? It was an annoying feature of my wife's Golf when we had that. Not a fan of it at all & even less so when i only own 1 key for the car. Or is there no way to do this?
