While i have only the one key, is it possible to disable the auto lock feature on this car?
It was an annoying feature of my wife's Golf when we had that. Not a fan of it at all & even less so when i only own 1 key for the car. Or is there no way to do this?

Yes it is possible and a quick Google brings up many results including a YouTube video.0

What is this autolocking that you don't like?Is it a way of locking your keys in the car by mistake? I'd say that shouldn't happen and something is wrong. Most cars will re-lock after a minute if you remotely unlock them and don't open a door (like if you press on the unlock button in your pocket whilst watching TV), but require manual locking once the ignition has been turned on.The Anti-hijack above makes it so one press on the unlock only opens the drivers door, and you can quickly get in, leaving the hijacker hiding on the other side of the car locked out.Auto-locking as I understand it locks you in once you go above a few miles an hour, so when you stop at traffic lights people can't get in.Neither of these would be affected by only having one key.The car shouldn't ever lock itself with the key in the ignition.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Anti hijack does not affect the locking/unlocking with the remote. Thats programmable. Press lock and unlock on the fob
until the indicators flash and that switches between one press unlock the drivers door only or unlock all doors.
Correct on the number of keys, makes zero difference. Only need 2 keys to create more keys.

If it’s the auto locking above a certain speed , I agree having one key wouldn’t be a problem. but I had an 08 focus that locked my keys in the car ( I only had one key) . The car auto locked itself after a short time with my keys in the car, I suspect that is what the OP is wanting disabled0

Though for the OP I'm sure the OBD whatever version it is , can select/deselect the option?0 -
I'm at work so short and sweet for now...
What I'm talking about is you open the car (with the remote in case that makes a difference). You're having a rummage around inside or whatever. Let's say you leave the key on the seat or it drops out of your pocket for example.
You get out the car, shut the door, go grab your coffee you left on the side, go get a screwdriver that you forgot or whatever else, you then return to the car but unlucky... Its locked itself.
And that was your only key.
OK if you get in to the habit of leaving the door open, but someone else uses your car and they just forget what you told them or whatever. Or maybe you leave the door open and a gust of wind ends up knackering the hinges.
I need to sort myself a second key but in the meantime I could do with disabling what I just mentioned if possible.0 -

My Mazda has that feature, but will not lock if it senses that the key is in the car, either by me pressing the button on the door handle or automatically.0
