I'm sure we had the same issue with the drivers door on the Golf MK4 we had.
Anyway since this may have been different to what you thought I was on about, is it easy enough to disable this until I can get a 2nd key sorted?0 -
Did you try the method you found on YT? (Your reply on page 1). I found another YT video which seems to be saying largely the same thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTM23JQVqy40

I took from people's replies that most thought I was talking about some other sort of auto lock rather than the one I was talking about.

It maybe the case with yours, in answer I don't know if it can be disabled (I never had the desire) but I'm semi sure it can be programmed out with OBD.1 -

What I'm talking about is you open the car (with the remote in case that makes a difference). You're having a rummage around inside or whatever. Let's say you leave the key on the seat or it drops out of your pocket for example.
You get out the car, shut the door, go grab your coffee you left on the side, go get a screwdriver that you forgot or whatever else, you then return to the car but unlucky... Its locked itself.
And that was your only key.
OK if you get in to the habit of leaving the door open, but someone else uses your car and they just forget what you told them or whatever. Or maybe you leave the door open and a gust of wind ends up knackering the hinges.
I need to sort myself a second key but in the meantime I could do with disabling what I just mentioned if possible.
If that happens then the locking system is faulty. Nothing you can disable to prevent that except unplug
all the locking motors to disable the remote locking/unlocking. But then you have to open it with a key
and put the ignition on within 20 seconds or the alarm sounds.

To enable/disable it on the Mondeo and possibly other Fords that support it.....
- Turn on the ignition to position II so all the dash lights come on but don't start the engine.
- Using the button on the door handle, lock and unlock the door 3 times (don't open the door).
- Turn off the ignition.
- Turn on the ignition to position I.
- Using the button on the door handle, lock and unlock the door 3 times (don't open the door).
- Turn off the ignition.
- Turn on the ignition to position II but dont start the engine - a beep will sound.
- Lock and unlock the door once as before - a confirmation beep will sound.
Also another one from memory which works for all Fords to add to the collection is to re-teach the automatic electric windows one touch close if they forget which they do after a flat battery or disconnecting/changing the battery...1. Hold the down button and wind the window down to the bottom.2. Hold the up button and wind it all the way to the top.3. Release the up button then press it three times, holding it in for 5 seconds on the third time. Rinse and repeat for every window that's not working properly.1 -
Cheers MinuteNoodles, off out to fix the drivers door window.0
