Posting/Discussion Company Car Tax
So, I've spent a lot of my time trawling the net for company car tax calculators are to be honest, most are just plain rubbish. I'll explain.. Most of the cars on parkers don't work, and if you haven't got the latest flash plugin, it just plain doesn't work. Furthermore, some of the calculations are wrong and that just…

Venting some steam..
There are times when I love french cars. There are times when I hate french cars and there are times when I decide I would like to dismantle french cars. Today the latter has occurred. So there I am, trying desperately to get this old fuel filter out of a plastic bracket with two stupid screws in it, exposed to the water…

A named driver on partner's car insurance
Does anyone know of any companies who honour the no claims accrued on someone else's car insurance, as I have been a named driver on partners policy for a few years? I could save me quite a bit of money. Most places I have contacted, say because the policy was not in my name, they cannot help?

Diamondbrite to protect body and seats. Is there a cheaper alternative?
I was offered Diamondbrite from my Ford dealer costing £400! I refused. I would like to protect my car body.. Put something on it that means it does not get so dirty looking, so needs less washing. Can I do this myself with a wax coating or better still is it offered at the car wash. Also where is a good place to get…

what's the deal with "head gaskets"
I used to read about head gaskets failures and stuff, and apparntly how much of an expensive repair it is. I didn't know what a head gasket was - I assumed it was an integral part or moving part of the engine. Like some big part on a piston or cylinger or something. Then I find out that a head gasket is just a rubber seal…

hastings direct
I called to cancel my car insurance on 16th january 2012, due to working abroad, they said I would have to pay £55.00 so I said I'd leave it as the term was up on 31st March. I'm home now and arranged new insurance cover with another company, when I contacted Hastings for proof of no claims they said that I'm still insured…

Middle rear seatbelt stuck on ford fiesta
My fiesta is in for it's MOT tomorrow, so have just been tidying it up. I never have the backseats up (dog) so I just put them up, went to do the seatbelts up and the middle seat belt is jammed. I've opened the window on the back of the seat and can see the reel. It will move barely an inch and has locked tighter than it…

Lease final impractical car
If you had £1,000 a month for a 3+36 month personal lease on a "sports" car without the need to consider practicalities (ie 2 seats is fine) beyond being able to fit a weekend bag in it what would you shortlist? Coupe or convertible suggestions appreciated

Hazed headlights
Anyone know a cheap way of restoring hazed headlights? Seen the toothpaste method on youtube but it didn't have to much off an effect. Been told you can do it with sandpaper but I don't want to scratch my headlights. Anyone know how to do this?

Unleaded Vs Diesel
I always keep an eye on fuel prices as I'm sure many of you do. For the last three years I've owned a 1.4 TDI VW Polo, it has'nt got an MFA but the MPG is quoted as being 58-65 on Parkers.co.uk One of my friends said that a diesel car is only really a good idea if you're going to be driving over XX miles a year because the…

Hi all, Does anyone have experience with a stolen car with a CobraTrack 5 immobilizer fitted and successfully got their car back?
