Convertibles
Hey all, We’ve had an ’02’ Lexus SC430 since it was 2 years old, and wanted another convertible to replace it, again about 2 years old. It’s only got 58k on it, but we’re wanting to get rid of it before it starts to get scruffy. Mainly a summer car, so spends most the year spent on the drive as we can’t afford to run it!…

Car seat help please
Looking at buying a car seat. My car has the Isofix fittings in the back (Saab 9-3). However, my wifes car does not have these fittings (Seat Cordoba). My question is, if we but an isofix car seat, can this be used with the seatbelt as a normal car seat as well, as we will be using the seat in both mine and my wifes car.…

I am considering PCP as this lowers my monthly payments. I am hoping to get monthly payments to below £200 on a car which has atleast a 1.4 engine. Does…

Problems with first gear
My teenage daughter has an 11 year old Dawoo Matiz and recently she's been having problems getting it into first gear (and occasionally second), as it's really stiff and you need to really ram it in. It now seems to be happening more frequently and I'm concerned about her breaking down, as she's planning her first…

Car bump, not my fault, other driver possibly uninsured
Hi All, Just wanted some thoughts and advice on a car accident I was involved in last saturday. I was stationary in my car, at a give way (2/3 cars infront of me also giving way). A van went into the back of me - he admitted he was looking at his job sheet and not at the road. He was quite reluctant to get out his van,…

Head Gasket Gone - what to do?
Came back from Uni yesterday to find the head gasket had gone on my Rover 25. My father was driving it to the garage to get the brakes looked at when it went - overheated and stalled apparently, fortunately just outside said garage. They've quoted £350 to do it, which is reasonable, then it'll be another £100 or so for the…

I am in the process of helping my 17year old daughter her first car and been trawling through insurance quotes. I renewed my insurance using go compare and failed to notice that whilst the have calculated that I have 9 years no claims bonus my previous insurer simply says 5 or more. AA cover (or similar) for my wife
Hi, I've been a member of the AA for years. Joining was one of the most money saving things I've ever done. My wife has now passed her test and so is driving more often. Mainly just locally, but sometimes out with the children for the day. Our car is an S reg, so liable to conk out (though it's been doing well recently!),…
